Help identity engine sound.
Hello everyone i have a 97 integra LS with a JDM B18c R swap. I purchased the car a few months back an in doing body work an getting it ready to be my daily beater with some extra kick under the hood.
I have a rattling noise coming from my timing belt area i have taken off the belt an looked around. The belt and water pump along with tensioner all look to be new. Im simply baffled at this noise. I've posted many times an cant seem to get a hint as to what this may be. YouTube video below is the car at running temp. You can here the rattle sound. All the help is much appreciated.
Sup guys I've tried posting an getting no results. I have a 97 JDM b18c R motor in a LS and i cant for the life of me figure out this noise.
Here's a video of it at running temp. Its a rattling sound..

Re: Help identity engine sound.
your belt is too loose. tighten it before you jump timing.
you can see it flapping around. should have been the first thing you noticed

The point of the video was to get info on the noise. A loose timing belt wouldn't make that rattle sound im trying to locate.
But thanks for the 2¢...

Re: Help identity engine sound.
im pretty sure its the noise your hearing. the belt is flapping like crazy and that seems to be the issue. get back to us when you replaced it all and see if its still there and we can go from there.
edit. i do hear the other noise now ive watched it again. check your ac tensioner pully and also see if any bolts are loose on the header. also check your alternator pully too.

Sorry for the rude comment I'm just frustrated lol.
Here's a complete list of things I've done.
I thought maybe LMA so i pulled valve cover an set each cylinder to TDC and pushed on each one by hand. None of them stuck but some felt easier to push then others.
Before pulling off the timing belt i pulled off all the belts alternator power steering and A/C an started the car noise was still there.
The timing belt an water pump and tensionor seem to look brand new not a spec of dirt anywhere on them. But i think the previous owner installed a gates timing belt kit it comes with a water pump tensioner all made by gates. I don't know for sure but im taking a guess.
So who knows lol
Maybe it's a faulty tensioner along with a loose timing belt.
Thanks for the input everyone i appreciate all the help.
I ordered the parts just waiting for them to arrive. ALL OEM!!!
Oh an I've checked the header bolts all are good an tight.
