Good bye ITR, HELLOOOO S2000
Yup. I have a Suzuka Blue 2002 S2000
Well technically I still have the ITR too but now the spot light is on the new baby. Too bad I won't be able to get a good feel for the S2k until broken in.
I am now a very serious seller of my ITR. Buyers wanted.

Thats very nice of you, but I consider the s2k a mere equal to the ITR in a very unique way. ITR's only upgrade is NSX.

S2K aren't really all that, but it's still a very nice car. BTW, I have a friend that's searching for a CW ITR. How many miles are on it, how much you want, and where are you located?

The ITR's ONLY upgrade is the NSX?I believe you are very wrong on that one.I can think of lots of cars that would be a step up.

It’s a step up in money spent, but as far as tracking... I guess it would depend on the driver. The NSX doesn’t impress me at all.
The S2K is an awesome track car right off the show room floor!

You can always heavily mod your car to pass Ferrari or Porache on the track
It does not mean the car is not capble
Also on a track, driver is a bigger factor than the car itself (not like a geo vs F50 of course)
And if you can pass NSX, I don't see any reason why you can't pass S2K
P.S.: On one of the BM video I got, a stock ITR passes S2K on a track. In fact, the ITR beat the S2K badly.

(BTW, not all NSX's that are passed are stock either. There is only one that I've NEVER been able to pass, and that's Chin's supercharged one).
S2k"s are harder to chase down. I've passed one and was going to pass the other but he called it a day and went it. And I'm not even racing, but he's not either sooooo...
(oh yeah, my car had R compounds too, not 100% if all those nsx's did or not)

Congratulations! Is that the light, metallic blue they had at the car show? And doesn't it only come in a blue interior too? If it's the same color, it's the best looking color yet for the S2K

Re: Good bye ITR, HELLOOOO S2000 (Dave-ROR)
When the ITR came out, it was referred to as the 'baby NSX.' That is what I meant when I said that NSX is the only substitute
Of course there are many step-ups to the ITR, but that's a very personal issue. I like it because in it's time it had the highest specific output and the best fwd handling capabilities. Because of it being the industry's best for what it was (is).
I have always told myself that I was very lucky to have the best all around car that I could possibly have for the time.
I have and will always admire the ITR no matter what I drive. I shall miss it.
I suppose we're all Honda people and don't care about any other brands, right?

It is hard to judge car capability at track days. Crashing $60K-$90K worth of automobile can really ruin your day ! They may not be driving the car at the limit.
Now, all out bang-door racing, that is another story. If you pass a NSX in this situation, very good job (But, I think that since an NSX is somewhat older technology, it is easier to modify a newer car to handle better than a NSX)

My comment on the S2K being a great track car right off the showroom floor, from what I’ve seen they do REALLY well. Maybe the owners are “stupid” for tracing it with out a "real" roll bar. I guess I should have said “ The S2K does really well on the track in stock trim”... Im not a big fan of the S2K either, but it is a fun car to drive, and seems to be really fun to track.
For the money spent the NSX does NOT impress me at all.

If you say NSX is over-priced, I won't disagree.
If you say NSX is not the "bang for the buck" like ITR, I won't disagree
If you say for the money, ITR is a better choice than NSX, I won't disagree either
But saying you can pass a NSX on the track with an ITR only have mod suspension and intake, there are only 2 possibilities:
1) The driver of NSX is not pushing to the limit;
2) The driver in the NSX is incapable.
I trust what you said, but I think it is definitely not because your ITR is faster than those NSX. I am more leaning towards you are a much better driver and the NSX drivers are conservative.
For fact:
--- 280hp vs 200hp (let me assume your intake worth 5hp which should be overestimated)
--- 3.5L vs 1.8L (torque...)
--- MR setup vs FF setup
--- Weight is not too much heavier in NSX
--- NSX has higher skipad # than ITR
--- larger brake in NSX
Step back and see NSX is clearly coming out top.
Peace

Adam (rs) passes NSXs on Sebring with his ITR with just an intake as well. Hell every remotely experienced ITR owner I've seen on the track beats NSXs. NSXs are REALLY NOT very impressive. Sorry, but they aren't. They are pretty though.

And I do think S2K is good, always my dream car.
But sorry, I will never agree S2K is faster than NSX. We are talking about pure performance, not performance per dollar.
