First, it's AMAZING that this community is so cool that they would drive for 3 hours then freely fix this guys car and lend him the parts. Second, it's totally disappointing to hear that the recipient of this generosity has procrastinated and avoided making good.
I don't care what the excuses are. 2 years is ridiculous.

And look at the parts on the car....he could easily have paid for the head if he didn't want to remove it from the car just by selling something else off...that's really ****ed up dude...and people wonder why nobody does anything to help people out anymore...this would be why.

I don't remember the cause (maybe T-belt went?), but it was mentioned in the Honda Tuning expo 9 article.

That's very generous of you guys to help out somebody like that..from personal experience I could totally see how this could fall onto somebody's backburner, but 2 yrs is a tad ridiculous.

Frustrating that this situation has not changed since we last discussed this, Scott. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help. I do have his registration info but am not sure if that is useful at this point.

I really feel bad about this whole situation. Cliff is a uber nice guy and he helped me out a ton on multiple occasions! Can't thank him enough!

Chris, you got to make things right! At this point you should pay whatever the new head retails for + few extra $100's for late payment........ Cliff has been out at least $2k for two years and he has been VERY patient about it (I admire him for that).

Chris, I really hope that you are better than this.

I want to thank everyone for the support. It's good to know that we're all in agreement with the sharing and caring that really makes this community what it is. Nine times out of ten this doesn't happen. I remember at my first Expo, number 6, when I met Chris, we pitted close by and I found a 1/2" drive Craftsman ratchet on the ground after he had left the track. I pm'ed him after it was over to see if it was his, and I shipped it back to him. Similar thing happened with Rob once, and Mel, and they both shipped back forgotten/borrowed tools. I look at it as though we're all in this together, we all go to the track, and stuff happens so we help each other out. Its the reason this group is closer, on a personal level, than most other car groups.

It would be really nice to just resolve this, with no hard feelings, asap. I know there's a couple Washington owners who have kept in touch with Chris, if they read this, I hope they tell him. We're not angry, yet, we would just like to have this all settled and taken care of.

Edit, a few guys asked: Chris was not at Expo 10, but we spoke during the evening of the first or second night (you guys know the partying ). I called Chris some time before Expo 10 to see how he was doing, ask about the head, and see if he was coming to 10, but I didn't get an answer, I left a message for him. He just happened to call me back during the Expo, and that was one of the last times we spoke. The photos are from E9.

Sorry to hear about this Scott. I'd hate to think of Chris as a douche as he was so nice when we met but damn, actions speak louder than words. I hope you and Cliff find some answers. If there is anything I can do don't hesitate to ask.

I was riding with Chris on track when the fatal 5-2 downshift happened.

To the OP, I feel really about what happened....but come on...who lends out a brand new head??? Dont mean to sound so blunt but that loan should have never happened.

That type of help is pretty normal for Expo people. A majority of the people help each other out.

Somewhere you gotta draw the line. That type of item will get wear and tear and possible damage. It will no longer be brand new when and if he gets it back.

It was very generous of the OP and I hope you do get it back.
