DS autox videos
I'm glad to be back in a R! I haven't ran one since '00. Arrive and drive is cool. The only thing I had to do was empty the car and adj air pressures.
I put Kerry Coughlin (2011 STS Nationals bridesmaid) in the car after my first run to observe and he said everything looked good except I was late in a few places.
After my 3rd run I let him drive it and he ran a 49.9xx. I then went out and ran a 50.9xx beating my first 3 runs by 1.7 sec.
Car is completely stock. I have lots of room for improvement. Car will remain bone stock for now.
Fronts are 225/45 R-S3 44# hot
Rears are 195/50 R1R 28# hot
My best:
Kerry. Very aggressive inputs:

Re: DS autox videos: first event in the car
Here's another video from the postage stamp sized lot we play on.
I did better finishing 4th Raw and 3rd Pax out of 31. Much more time left in the car. I swear the back felt loose while driving, but reviewing the videos I see nothing.
This thing is no joke through slaloms!

Even stock, the ITR will oversteer a little under drop throttle. Looked like there were a couple spots where you opened the wheel a little mid-corner. Guessing that was where you lifted some and the back end wiggled a little? I didn't see anything just watching the car... onlyvisible when watching your wheel inputs.

Thanks for sharing and the forums could definitely use more auto-x videos for sure.
I'm in the same boat; returning to DS this year and can't wait here in NC. How many runs do you guys end up getting with 31 entries?

You should live in the "real" south. First autocross of the season tomorrow... instructing a beginner school tomorrow and then an event Sunday. Guess I get to see if teh motonz can make up for a rusty driver! Lol

The season never ends here. We don't have a December event, but 3 other surrounding regions do. Interested to see what you think of the Motons after this weekend. Hope you let us know.

Re: DS autox videos: first event in the car
I went and played with the Delta Region the other day. Nearly 8 mos since autocrossing the car. I really missed the 225 RS3/ 195 R1R setup. We were on 205 ZIIs.
My codriver finished 13th RAW/ 10th PAX. I finished 25th RAW/ 14th PAX out of 61. No adjustment for us being on street tires.
Only mod so far is Koni Sports which were set to full stiff for our last and best runs.
Anyway here's the videos. You can clearly see I gave up a full second to him going in the first turnaround. I plowed through there the first few runs and feared teh understeers.
