Re: Death at Chuckwalla raceway this weekend
this is still on my mind... also the ITR is irrelevant when a life is taken.......... did the passenger have proper safety equipment..... or was it one of those cars where the driver has a racing seat, with racing harness and the passenger has a stock seat and seat belt........ turn 11 doesn't seem that fast if they we're driving CCW
Also some saying the driver died....the article said the passenger died.... none the less, hopefully tracks / people will take safety more seriously.

i hope this can help them out ..
this is so sad.. hope she will move on to somewhere nicer than the earth.
the track i used to go someone told me a guy with a itr fliped it had a female passenger in it.. seems like they try to impress the girls or something and drive extra scary..usually the outcome isn't good..
i hope everyone learns from this bad news.. drive carefully. at track or on street..

I really don't know

^^^^ Done
This is a very sad situation. Hopefully enough is raised to help recoup a significant percentage of the financial loss. I wish there was a way to help with the emotional support...

Those groups also only let Advanced drivers do that. I'm pretty sure this guy wasn't advanced, or he wouldn't be wearing a tank top and using an M-rated helmet.

Lets take a step back and simmer down. There is no reason to make assumptions or jump to conclusions. Each organization has their own set of rules and guidelines pertaining to safety and ride-alongs. In this particular case it is my understanding the driver was in advanced that passengers were allowed in this run group. I always opt for long sleeve cotton pants/shirt but different tracks or groups have different standards here but it isn't uncommon to see guys running short sleeves out here. Lets not resort to bashing or name calling though, lets instead focus on the improving safety standards for everyone at these types of events.

Ouch! I don't even think M rated helmets are supposed to be allowed in Auto-X events lol. A professional driver once told me while shopping for helmets, "how much is your head worth?" Snell SA2010 is what I wear even karting.
