Default d16y8 in typeR

i know you guys will hate me for ever for this but i need to get my R threw emissions and i dont have funds for a typeR swap. but i have come across a whoel y8 swap with ecu and o guess my qustion is will it run alright to get threw emission?

The emissions officers might notice a decrease in V-TECH power, but that's about it.

Yes it's been done. One ITR owner here did that same swap while he was building his C5 motor. Think he passed emmissions with flying colors.

I guess its a good thing HONDA doesnt make V-TECH power.

well i got a full y8 swap
ecu
axles
motor
trans
harness (but also have typeR harness)
mounts
so i think it sould run i just need to find shift linkage


i been looking for a motor but i cant find a deal and since i cant afford typeR swap yet what ever motor that will go in for now will only bein there for 6 months tops so i dont want to spend alot.

one guy wanted 1k for 200k miles gsr motor only and it was a 94 so i would have to do some work tomake it work. and i have a d15b jdm motor but still need to do work to make it work.
