Right Time for a much needed update about my car!

It's gone through some changes over the last year, some of them intentional and some not.

Unfortunately earlier this year I was hit by an uninsured driver who lost control, cut across my lane of traffic and crashed in to a parked bus around 25/30 meters away.....The case is still open regarding liability as his insurance company are not playing ball but I plan to follow it through to the end!

I was driving around with the damage for months as I thought the case wouldn't take this long to resolve!

Also at the same time the damage happened my rear calliper decided to seize I then got this changed a lot with a service to keep on top of everything!

However, with my MOT coming up I had to go ahead and get the car repaired.

I’ve had the car back around a month so far and so glad to have it back how it should be! I have some major plans for next year which I have given a break down below the images :D

While the car was away being repaired I have decided to keep the car and upgrade/replace bits as they need it.

Plan is for the car to finally go in to TGM (Honda Specialist) next year and get the follows bits fitted/fixed

-Rear quarter respray (Drivers side) + underseal the car again
-Meister R Coilovers fitted
-Fit braided hoses. brake stopper and replace front disks and pads
-JDM exhaust system + new backbox
-Clean engine bay
-Release worn/rusted parts with new OEM items along the way.
-Take out seats and clean again

I am sure something else will crop up as I go but I will take it off the road early next year

Thanks for reading if you have got this far and all comments are welcome!

They get stolen all the time here it's sad your looks sweet!
Its not bad there cuz there are other more exotic beast that we can't have here..like R34 GTRs, EVO 1-6, WRX Type RA etc...no one wants to jack an ITR over there lol.

Thanks a lot for the kind words guys

Hoping to take it off the road at some point soon when it stops raining over here...

That may be why mkhalid, it's normally old school Fords and fast Audi/BMW's that seem to get stollen the most here!

I was going to buddy but the body shop that repaired the car ended up getting a new bumper from Honda and throwing the old bumper and one of the fogs + surround out

That and the holes were cut by the dealers originally to fit the fogs and I didn't want to cut up the new bumper myself!

They threw the fogs away?? Sucks man...and people over here install those fogs by using a template to cut the holes in the right place, not to hard with a template.

Yeah Thanks a lot! hopefully a lot more updates coming up, just trying to source parts. I don't know of any going at the moment dude, I do travel a lot for work though so may be a strugle to get it posted but I will keep an eye out for you!

Tell me about it man! I told them over the phone to keep the parts for me but it was too late by the time I got there it had all gone Yeah, I may do it at some point again but going to keep it foglight-less for the time being!

Thanks for the kind comments guys!

Thought I would chuck some pictures up of the work I have been doing on the DC2 over the last few weeks.

I have done the following:

- Painted calipers gold
- Undersealed the car
- Cleaned the wheels and machine polished the car
- Refurbed all 3 wiper arms and boot brace, also cleaned front scuttle tray
- Fitted new rocker cover and cleaned engine bay
- Fitted MeisterR Coilovers
- Braided lines, Brembo blanks and Fedora DS2500 pads
- Full service, valve clearances and cambelt change
- All engine mounts replaced
- All new bolts and mounts from Honda for the engine bay and interior

Next week I am going to take my seats out and clean them fully!

Pics below with all the new bits fitted!

I still have a few new brackets to change in the engine bay but I managed to round off some rusted bolts so will attack that next weekend!

For those who noticed that earth strap not attached in the 'after' pictures, I had forgot to put it back on but it's attached now.

I also may go a tad lower, it's currently 25mm all around so I will leave it a while to settle

Hopefully should be looking good for summer!

Thanks for looking,

James

Thanks dude! It's standard at the moment, just need to give the seats a full clean which I will hopefully do today if the weather holds out.

Will try and get some pics soon though!

Thanks for comment dude!

I thought I would chuck an update on here as a few things have changed!

I recently got some used SW98 Sprint alloys from godfridge (Thanks again for that mate!) and some new tyres for the front.

Also, my car goes in to the bodyshop mid August so I have been prepping a second rear bumper I have by replacing with non rusted number plate brackets and pretty much refurbing or replacing every bolt as I go.

I am also on the hunt for a new exhaust, drop me a PM if you are looking to sell a full system!

After a little spirited drive today I got some pictures of how it stands!

It's down 25mm at the moment which I may have a play with later but I think it looks good how it is

Thanks for the comments mate, appreciated! I will do my best to keep it clean

I got my car booked in for some bodywork today to sort some very minor rust I have at the moment, I will update with progress pictures as I go.

Also, I was a Honda meet here in the UK this weekend and have included some shots below!

Default CW UKDM DC2 - Arches repaired!

Big update this time, I have just got my car back from TGM and I am over the moon with the work.

I've tried to log all of it but have most likely left something out

Here is how the car looked when it went in after cutting back some bits, from the outside you couldn't see any damage at all apart from little bubbles in the paint

http://www.flickr.com/photos/avidjames/10025233704/ (Video that shows the rust)

Excuse the amp, it will be getting removed very soon! But otherwise no rust was found apart from the arches thank god!

Fast forward 6 weeks and me being in Sydney for most of it I now have my car back from TGM :D

He said it was a lot worst than we thought so a lot of work was needed but here is the result! I also had the new rear bumper fitted and all fixings replaced as we went.

Today was the first day I had to actually go through everything on the car and get it cleaned and re-fit the interior. I also cleaned the seats and treated the leather on the steering wheel as it had started to age.

Overall, I am very very happy with the work that Will and Tom did at TGM and would recommend them to anyone who is looking to get anything like this done!

I also love the Mugen twinloop! haha

Sorry for the wall of images and thanks for reading,

James

Wow She looks great. Love those red Recaro seats. So I noticed that on the rear hatch the Type R decal is there instead of on the filler panel. Had never noticed it being there before. Just curious if that is where the decal is on all non-USDM ITR's?
