According to one of the European web sites, JV had the latest spec motor which supposedly gave him another 1/2 second. Button was not using the latest generation engine for his lap. Still, very impressive for Button!

BAR drivers are good. The cars always have problems. Hopefully they've worked out there issues.

It looks like the problem with the engine has been found.

We seem to have a bad batch of parts in the camshaft area so we will analyse further tonight to solve the problem."

Guys, didn't you realise that the rule this year has it that the slowest car in Qualifying goes out first in the Saturday session?
There had been numerous predictions by newspaper and teams saying that competitive teams like Ferrari would deliberately go slower on the first qualifying session in order to go out later on Saturday, when the track is warmed up and quite an amount of rubber has been accumulated?
Dunno, it's the first qualifying session and I just don't know what you guys are so excited about...

Also, after 3 years of Honda teams doing mediocre at best, this is the best news we've had in AWHILE. Esp considering JB topped the time sheets a few mins ago in the 1st practice (and was 2nd in 2nd practice).
Honda has won/dominated in virtually ever field of motorsports (car and motorcycle) they have entered. I am sure most of us are hoping that this is the first sign that they are about to resume this trend!

wow what a qualifying session! just watched it live on TV......
the teams are scattered everywhere, probably indicative of their race strategy. Nevertheless the Hondas did well......... Jacques could have gone alot faster but stuffed up in the last sector to finish 6th!!

They said the new Honda blew up, so they have to go back a step with the old engine. I have to say they do very good if they indeed using the old engine.
Just hope the engine won't blow up during the race.
But it also a big concern that Honda spent all the money and time to develop the new engine, just to have it blew up 10 mintues into the first practice session.
