Default autozone rotors = duralast?

Sorry to post this here guys, but seems like more of the ITR guys run autozone rotors more than any other cars out there at least on this forum, so I'll ask you guys to get a better response.

So I've heard that the often raved "autozone" rotors are Aimco rotors. but when I check online on Autozone.com, all I could find were the duralast ones. Are these the ones everyone talks about? The price is around 21 bucks, and comes with a 1 year warranty. The only other rotor offered on their website is the "valucraft" ones which cost 13.99 and comes with a 3 month warranty, these couldn't be the ones.

so is it the duralast ones i'm supposed to get?

In the stores, the Duralast are the only ones I've ever found.

If you have to pay shipping from ordering online, remember how heavy rotors are.

yeah i'm lookin to buy in store, and the duralast ones are all i could find as well. If I'm going to buy online I would rather just get the brembo blanks that irp is selling for 25 bucks each.

I've run Duralast and Aimco and beat the crap out of both with Hawk Blue pads. They both seem to perform the same.

I've gotten a set of valucraft rotors and they needed to be turned. I have also had the duralast rotors and they didn't need to be turned. The duralast rotors were produced in canada while the valucraft rotors were made in china.

I'd probably go with the duralast if I was buying another set again.

i bought the amico ones made in china

Beat the living crap out of them with my AEM pads daily.

They were awesome, no rotor warp or anything though my AEM pads would start to fade after many 120->0mph stops

I kinda wish they were slotted, maybe that'd help against fade.

Who knows, but for 21 bucks, I am all over autozone rotors

You don't need slotted rotors, you need better pads to reduce or eliminate the fade, try Axxi Ultimates for the street.

I've used both...they seem to work about the same I guess.

However, I did notice a bit of difference in thickness on the inside of the rotor. Duralast was thinner if I remember correctly.

The only ones I;ve ever found at the store are the Aimcos. I guess it depends on your location.

On the Autozone website, it shows two kinds of front rotors:

a. the "Duralast" rotor, part number 3296, with a one-year warranty, for $24.99

b. the "Valucraft" rotor, part number 3296B, with a three-month warranty, for $18.99

When I walk into the Autozone store, they always have the 3296 in stock, never the 3296B. They charge $24.99, give me a one-year warranty, and give me the rotors made by Aimco. I can only conclude that the Aimco rotors are the same as the "Duralast" rotors.

Autozone currently offers free shipping on all Internet orders.

Hmm...my situation must have been a freak incident then. They always handed me AIMCO until this last time. I was at a different autozone location, I guess that explains that.

hehe i know, supposed to help though

Axxis ultimates and AEM pads are very similar.

I prefer the AEM, they dont squeek as much, though both are VERY quite pads

the reason why you are handed aimco rotors and its says duralast on the computer is because autozone just recently stopped using/selling the name aimco and now duralast it the brand they sell, its all the same...soon there will be no more aimco boxes in autozone

ive always used bottom of the line NAPA brand rotors i knew a few people that worked there and they all said they were brembo blanks just doesnt say brembo on them so i use them along with the their ceramic pads...... never had any problems out of that setup

I'm sure either will work but being cheap rotors don't forget to at least turn them once to see if they are warped. All the rotors I've gotten from autozone had to be turned a little

Warped?

How could they be warped? Poorly cast maybe but I kinda doubt it since Most of us have never had any issues with them.
