I ran out of the Motul brake fluid stuff a few months back, and the nearest supplier is about 2 hours away from me. So I substituted Ford brake fluid when I bled the brakes. A while back some auto-x guys recommended Ford brake fluid to me as being pretty decent. I remember reading some posts on here about Valvoline brake fluid being very good, but I found the Ford brake fluid had a higher dry boiling point than the Valvoline stuff from what I could see. So I went with the Ford fluid for the heck of it. I don't know the wet boiling temp of the Ford fluid (not listed for some reason), but dry is 550 F degrees DOT 3, not too shabby from what I could tell, and pretty affordable stuff. Anyone else ever run the Ford fluid or recommend it ?. I haven't felt any difference good or bad, it feels alright though through various braking situations.

Joey, I have used it in the past, it is the exact same stuff as the Z-speed fluid. i now use ATE Superblue and have not had any problems, but everyone has there favorite.

that's interesting Matt, I guess it must be fairly decent stuff to carry that kind of a boiling point, but there seems to be some other fluids a fair bit higher than that on the list. definitely worth trying.
