Default 98 LS with 96 spec ITR swap idle surge.

Hey guys! I know there is a lot of threads on idle problems but can't seen to find anything specific on the type R engine. I'd been having idle surges for about a week now, it all started randomly. I have no cel light. The car is a 98 INTEGRA LS with a 96 spec b18c type r. The first thing I did was clean the iacv and bleed the coolant, that didn't do anything so I replace the valve with a new one. Note that I'm using a 99 civic si one. I'm under the impression that they're all the same. I clean the throttle body while putting the new iacv and bled the coolant again, still nothing. I check for vacumm leaks, I spreid carb cleaner while the car was on and nothing happened. One thing I wanna mention is that whenever I block the hole on the throttle body that goes to the iacv my idle goes back to normal at around 850 900 rmp, and that's with the new valve. I'm using a p28 with katman ff squad chip. Again I have not cel light the car runs perfect its just the idle. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thank you.

What about the hole to FITV? Just to make it less confuse, cover both holes and if the engine wants to die, you probably has a bad FITV sensor.

Well the integra type R engine doesn't have a FITV. There's only one hole on the throttle body.

I had the same type of issues long time ago when i did my first swap.(b16a3 into 94 civic si, or ex for American folk)

All I had to do in my case was let the car run long enough so that the idle would bounce, (after a while I started revving it a bit till it got warm enough) because my idle would bounce after car was warm, I unplugged the throtlle position sensor, ( backside of intake manifold, black/grey plug) adjusted my idle about one full turn to the left, plugged in the tps ( your check engine light should come on when you unplug the tps) your idle should go lower, shut off car for a minute , start it and the problem should go away, at least for me it was that easy.

You can also try:
1. check the IAC (idle air control)
2. check the TPS (throttle position sensor)
4. pull the fast idle valve and check the spring loaded plate, it could be loose and could mess with your idle.
5. vac leak?
6. pull the ecu for 10 min or so and try again

I'd tried unplugging my tps sensor and I did get a cel light and my idle just shoots up like about 2000 rpms. I haven't try adjusting the idle screw not sure if I have one... Something I forgot to mention was that I don't have the stock throttle body, I got the swap like that and I know its not stock cause its much larger I think it's a 68mm not the 62 mm.

So I was working on the car and I had the car running and I unplugged the iacv and my surge stop, my idle when back to normal at around 750 rpms. What does this mean? Do I have a bad iacv? I just replaced it and I bled the coolant right after.

So today I was working on the car trying to figure out the problem I remove the iacv from the IM and to me it seems like its stock open. Anybdoy knows how to test it? Also whenever I remove the ECT plug the surge stops but I get a cel. If I unplug the iacv the idle stops to its normal RPM
