I'm working on it! I've been trying to wrap up the last few things I need to do before paint. I mocked up the front end, picked up a new rear bumper from Acura, replaced all mounting hardware, and finally got around to adjusting my rear calipers so that my parking brakes actually work. I've been meaning to take a few pictures, but by the time I remember it's too dark to bother.

The car is finally ready to come off the rack, I just need to find some time to do it and convince one of my little brothers to come give me a hand.

In other news... I finally completed my set of 16x7 +45 Regas. I dropped them off at Seattle Powder Coat on Tuesday and they were ready on Friday. I'm really happy with the way they turned out!

Here are a couple of crappy pictures of the front and rear end mocked up. I'll get some better pictures after it's off the rack and I have some time to roll the car out of the garage.

Thanks guys. I'm hoping to get it loaded onto a trailer and to my buddy's shop sometime in the next couple weeks for paint. I still need to track down some hardware to install the rear valences, remove my antenna, remove glass and replace some temporary hardware. Here are a few pictures with daylight.

It is definitely nice to see the car come back together. I'm hoping to pick up a few additional parts before paint for the sake of having "options." I'm planning to tuck a few things away in case I get bored. I'll give it a couple weeks at the most..

Well if you decide you're bored of your 16" JDM wheels, 98-0067 would love to replace her gunmetal TE37s

... Finally... Thank you Reggie Mah! The man is putting me to shame... takes his car apart in a week and already has his engine bay painted... I'm going on 3 1/2 years and I'm just now ready for paint..

Last but not least thanks to Cullen Cheung for driving these down from Vancouver! I really appreciate it!

The last 24 hours were pretty crazy..

Last night I picked My wife up from work and we headed straight from Seattle to Eugene, Oregon. Five hours later we arrived, only to find out that every damn hotel room in the city was booked.. literally EVERY hotel room at EVERY hotel.. Because of an Elton John concert.

No. I'm not kidding.

We pushed south for another hour and found a hotel with an open room. Before calling it a night, we decided to swing by the local dive bar to have a few drinks before last call. We walked into the bar.. which had no windows, was blasting country music, and had a bartender that was wearing a clown wig (again.. not kidding.) We didn't even have a chance to order drinks before a couple of guys decided that they should get in a fight, which was enough to send my wife right back out the front door.

So no drinks for us... We got in the car and flipped a u-turn back the way we came towards the hotel. *Blue flashing lights* Next thing you know we were pulled over explaining that we hadn't been drinking... even though he saw us pulling out of the bar. He finally let us go with about 5 minutes left to buy beer from the convenience store before they stopped serving.

Knocked a few back.. went to sleep.. and woke up to a blizzard. Well, blizzard is probably an exaggeration, but it was snowing pretty heavily. At least the hotel room came with continental breakfast.

We were in Roseburg (our final destination) before noon, where we met up with Erik Mercado and his lady. They met us half way from the Sacramento area, so they had a pretty long drive of their own. An exchange of cash for goods was made, and I became the proud owner of an authentic Mugen bumper and a pair of authentic Mugen side skirts. After finding a way to "Tetris" everything into the car, we spent the rest of the day making our way back to Seattle.

Believe me when I say it was all worth it. I've been after this bumper for a very long time. A big thank you to Erik for hooking me up and taking the time to meet me half way.

You can't make this stuff up. Like I said.. what a crazy 24 hours...

Me too. I've decided to mount the Mugen skirts over the OEM skirts, so I need to come up with an extra pair that i'm willing to cut up. I'm avoiding the use of Mugen brackets so that I don't have to drill any new holes in the car. As soon as I get these parts mocked up it's time for paint.

I was reading back through the thread and saw an old post where I said my New Year's resolution for 2016 was to finish the car.. LOL. I'll be lucky if I finish before 2018.

No real progress.. I thought I would have the car in for paint by now but no such luck. I was planning to have a friend of a friend paint it for me, but the quote I got was much higher than I anticipated (13K+)... He's good at what he does and I was expecting it to be pretty expensive... but holy ****. I decided the best move would be to get quotes from some other reputable shops. The first few have come in, and now I'm just waiting to hear back from the last couple on my short list. Thankfully, all of these quotes are much closer to what i was expecting. Hopefully I can nail down a shop and get this thing in for paint in the next week or two.

Here are a couple of my latest pickups so that I can try to tell myself I posted an update..

New OEM lug nuts from Chase. Thank you sir!

New JDM fender liners from Matt at ICB. Thanks!

I'm obviously running out of parts to buy..

You could probably ask Honda themselevs and they would repaint it for less. Seems a bit steep but I don't really know how much a respray costs these days, I would guess about half that price or so for a high end job. It's not like your car needs much/any panel work from rust issues, crashes etc.

Exactly, half that would be an amazing paint job, at least around here anyways.

Exterior, jambs, engine bay... and a few spare parts.

I was expecting it to be a little cheaper too. The rear quarter needs a little work to take care of what PDR couldn't, and there are a couple small dings.. but that's about it. The other quotes are more reasonable.

Most of the quotes have come in at less than half of the first. The shop I'm leaning towards is somewhere in between.
