Re: 2001 Mats skyrocket in Price
I gave up looking for 00 mats. I just picked up some 01 mats off craigslist for 190. They are super cheesy compared to 00 mats.

That's exactly what I mean, they don't even seem OEM (although I know they are) The 00 mats were heavier and just seem to have a better quality to them.

We never can tell until they are actually discontinued...basically, we'll go to order a set and they'll either be on back order with no ETA or DISCONTINUED will be in the availability column. No heads up from American Honda FTL...

Makes me glad my mats are a 10+. Not a single spec of dirt since the day I bought the caR. So strange how things as simple as factory mats would be going for this kind of $$ these days.

Disagree. Yes eBay has more users obvious but how many of those are Itr or Honda guys? Less then here. Correct on things are worth what ppl are willing to pay. Iv seen these sell for $400-450. I think it's crazy what ppl will pay but that's me.

It is crazy. But when you put so much time and money in to a car and the mats will be one of the last things you need to finish it off, one might be kind of inclined to buy them for such a ridiculous price for car floor mats, or else they'd feel their entire project was a waste. It's simple supply and demand, the prices are gouged because new OEM BNIB mats are scarce.

I know you you have been asking for a picture of the box. I have had trouble uploading it and have been busy with family. Seeing that I known your not a potential buyer I haven't really put a ton of effort into it.
On another note, just because they didn't sell on eBay doesn't mean much. Sometimes you have good luck sometimes you don't. I had put the reserve at a decent price. And the BIN at a ridiculous price. They didn't sell. No big deal. If you want them for your R I'll make you a legitimate price.

Are these things really going for $400-450?
I have 2 sets of 98 and 1 set 01 in boxes under my bed...
Maybe its time to clean out the closets...

I don't think your price for BNIB ITR mats is ridiculous, I think it's ridiculous that they are 'worth' that much now. They are floor mats! If you priced them for $100 you'd have everybody on HT with an ITR mesaging you, same for $200..less for $300..ect. You will profit off the person who wants them the most, that is business and this is America! Capitalize on what you have!

Re: 2001 Mats skyrocket in Price
I hope that isn't steming from my comment about those who already put a lot of money in to their R's would consider buying these mats for that price. I wasn't putting anybody down, I can understand why somebody would think spending that much is asinine, but i can also understand why someone would think it's well worth it.
What I met was it's more than likely that somebody who has already spent a lot of money on their R wouldn't mind spending hundreds of dollars on mats, someone who hasn't put so much money in to their R.. floor mats probably wouldn't be on their priority list...

Re: 2001 Mats skyrocket in Price
FYI to the ITR community:
Just did a random search for a set of mats for my R and I discovered the price went up. Highest I've seen them was close to $400 and lowest was $289. I do have a brand new set that i paid $89.00 roughly two years ago from hondafloormats.com that I planned on using after I get my R back on the road, I don't know how I feel about that now. I sort of want to leave them in the box wrapped in the plastic, or at least buy another set to throw in the back of my closet.
Anyone who plans on holding on to their R for as long (plan on keeping the car forever) as I do plan on picking up a set or two before they reach a $1,000 or are discontinued?

Look bud, I don't want to turn this into an online battle. I think you have misunderstood me. I sent you a more detailed PM. Sorry for the confusion, I wasn't trying to be a dick.

Re: 2001 Mats skyrocket in Price
When I bought my 01 PY a few years back it came with stock mats and a set of checkered mats front, back, and trunk that I sold off for $650 ($400 for the trunk it was mint $250 for the rest of the set). You know what I did with that money? I bought eight sets of period correct mats for my PY, used one set under the originals and the other seven sets are in my closet. A modest $300 a set is $2,100 I guess I made a wise decision lol.
BTW no I won't be selling any of them yet so please don't ask!
