Default 2001 Acura Integra Type R

I am the original owner of a 2001 Acura Integra Type R. It has a 147,000 miles on it. I want to sell it. I am considering painting it prior to sale. I got a quote of $2975 by Maaco in National City, California. There are also various things that require repair, including passenger door handle, power antenna, trip odometer, and upholstery. What do you think?

I am trying to decide whether to paint it.

Maaco doesn't have the greatest reputation. You might be better off selling it as is, and let the next owner decide if they want a cheap paint job or something more elaborate or even a color change.

Basically, you would be unnecessarily rolling the dice IMO. Will it increase the value of the car by that much? Probably not.

Imo I would prefer roached paint over a cheap paint job that will look just as bad in a few years.

You would be the biggest moron alive sending an itr to Maaco. Some dipshit making minimum wage will just leave with your car and not come back.

Yeah, if that is all original, leave it and sell it as is. It needs a proper respray and looks like a bit of body work.

Not MAACO.

Checking in, Maaco in National City is actually pretty good and has a great reputation locally.

Where in SD are you located? I can help you source some parts for this resto. DM me - my shop is located in Convoy.

BUT, you’re still correct, this thing deserves much more than a scuff and spray. Especially if OP is spending almost $3k.

I wouldn't paint it unless it's a full proper respray. If you can't do it, let the next owner decide.

Personally, i would rather buy a car that needs a respray than one that wasnt dine properly.

It will most likely hold more value with its original paint! If anything, maybe have the car detailed with paint correction then that would be ok before its sold.

Put it on bring a trailer you will get a good buyer.
