That is aweful news... it just sucks. Each time I fix another little thing or dump some money into my car, I think about some asshat stealing it. Just like the way you said it, I figure that the day I get everything just right will be the day they steal it. Long story short... I like the countries where they cut off the thieves hand.

Re: (MatrixShark)
well i just talked to insurance and they are sending me out paper work that ill need to fill out and have notorized. so i geuss all i can do is sit and wait for that, send it back, and see what kind of number they comeback with. and they keep saying "under investigation" blah blah. but they will cover up to $1500 dollars of my aftermarket parts. i think that covers half of my jdm front. oh well just wait and see if they find the car or what

That's not a sure guarantee either.
Best of luck in dealing with your insurance company.

yea the car has been driven everyday its my daily driver. my battery just started needing to be jumped every now and then and with this weather i didnt want to chance it. do you remember what that guys name was? and this person said they knew me?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Don't remember his name, but he knew you from Honda-Tech it seemed (he knew your user name here), as well as personally... I wasn't real comfortable with the brief conversation, in that he thought he had seen my R before and knew where I lived. He even mentioned some development I had never lived in, but instead of correcting him, I just said I had never lived there. (With as few caRs as we have in this state, it sounded like a phishing story to me!)
He did mention that he and a friend had recently completed a Nissan Sylvia (?) conversion, which he appeared to be driving that night.
Good luck with the recovery; I was hoping after 7 years my caR wouldn't still be the target it once was...

yea i didnt want to spend an extra 100-150 a month for 6 years to cover my after market parts.
i figure my car insurance ranged from 190-330 a month in that 6 year period lets say on average 250 a month which comes to 18 grand. and ive never had one claim so hopefully my insurance company sees that and wont butt hurt me too bad. but i know the outlook is probably dim.

ok with that info i think that guy is safe. the car with the s15 swap was my roommates car and the kid you talked to was probably one of our friends so im sure he was okay.
and yea i thought so too. i remember when the ITR forum would be full of these kinds of threads now they are rare, well except for my car right now. sadly i think we see less and less of these threads because there are less and less R's to steal.
i have pretty much all of my friends around here looking out for anything and checking websites for parts for sale etc. as ive been doing as well.

Re: (Splat)
Andy sorry to hear about the R. I know you have been on the fence for a long time about selling it. Hopefully you get the car back but I highly doubt it will be in one piece. Good luck with everything and I will keep an eye out around here for the car or parts floating around.
