wont start...bent valves or bad dizzy, or what? please help!!
Hey everyone, I have a 94 integra gsr with a built ls vtec high compression, I recently had a bad head gasket to start out with....(blowing compression in to the coolant chamber)...so I changed the head gasket . timing belt slipped on me...so I pulled the head, and did the gas trick to check for bent valves...I filled the combustion chambers with gas, and had zero leakage.so I got a new headgasket..got it all back together. .and.now the damn thing wont start...I got it to fire up once..but it was just sputtering like crazy with my foot holding the throttle wide open...soon as I let off it died...then wouldn't start again....I have fuel...plugs are always soaked with gas...compression is 240 all across...I recently replaced the dizzy, before the whole mishap... got one off ebay from chandler motor sports. ...I couldn't imagine the dizzy going bad that fast...someone please help! Has anyone had the same problems? How did you fix it?

or just swap out parts from your old one.

I would try my old dizzy but it was off a 97 obd2 teg...thanks for the link...ill check the dizzy, or swap it out with a known working one...this just baffles me cause before the bad head gasket it ran fine...I wouldn't have thought a dizzy could go bad that fast...but I suppose anything is possible. ..

I would take out the plugs 1 by 1 and hold the tip off something metal while turning the engine over and see if you are getting good spark oh and remember to wear rubber gloves if you dont want a shock

When checking for spark use an HEI spark tester, they are only $10-$15.
A spark does not act the same in air as it does under pressure, the HEI spark tester compensates for that. 94

Thats sounds like a good trick to testing for spark...ill try that...gotta make a trip to the parts store....sounds like I have more of a spark issue than anything. ...so would I be able to build compression if I had bent valves? Or no?

It was weird how the only way it would start is with the gas pedal to the floor....then it would only sputter gradually picking up rpms till I let off the pedal...then it died....and wouldn't start afterwards. ...
