Default What's this piece in '01 GSR? PIC INCLUDED

The piece highlighted in yellow between the fuel filter and brake MC

DID search, but came up empty since i'm not sure what the piece is called.

It's hooked up to the battery looks like wiring for an amp

Looks like a mini capacitor for a car stereo amplifier. You can disconnect it, unless you have an aftermarket audio system in your car.

Its a fuse housing for an amplifier. If you don't have a sub chances are previous owner chopped the power line in the carpet and stuffed it under the carpet somewhere.

Fuse, not a cap. AGU type.


And it is correctly placed as close to the battery as possible, to minimize damage in the event of a short circuit.

Should only be needed if an amplifier is being used. I've removed more of those from used cars than I can count, where the previous owner took the amp and sub out before selling but left the wiring in place.
