I belive a project should start with something you like. All the platforms you listed are gr8. But, keep in mind what you are trying to acheive. Are you going for a sick track *****, dragster, show queen, or a lil bit of everything. Is the vehicle going to be a DD or a week end warrior. The amount of time and money you are willing to invest. You should think about all of these before you make the leap.
DC2's FTW. I like eg's also but DC2's are so much nicer.

Man U FTW
They all have their good points and bad points
1. EG---i love EGs but theyre really common. They can look great, but IMO i think theyre too small for me. I would still love to own one
2. DC---i have a DC2 and i absolutely love it to death. Granted it is heavier, but i think they look a lot better than the other choices. They also have a lot more engine room than something like a DA. Plus all the parts from the EG are interchangeable so you can swap chassis if you dont like it
3. EK----i had an EJ1 and thought it was awesome...if i was to get another Civic, i would rather get an EK because with the 99-00 SI front they look just badass
4. EF----too small for me...not enough engine space

Re: (Schister66)
i would go with a da or dc. they both come with b series, both can be had in obd1, rear disc brakes, not as common as hatches, etc. the one thing i love about da's is that if your on a budget and somthing like a alternator, starter, relay, misc body panels or anything of that nature goes out theyrs a handfull of them at junkyards.

I think the word you are looking for is "bump"
Well, I am obviously going to say a DA as well. This whole thread is kind of silly though, as any car can be a good project. Seeing as how cars are inanimate objects, the person overseeing the project is going to have a hell of a lot more influence than what platform you are using.

I was thinking that Ford made a compact known as the Festiva in the early 90's that you may be overlooking. They came with a stout 63 hp and 70 ft. lb. of torque. They also came in at an impressive 1797 lbs. Nice!!!
Seriously tho...Just pick out the chassis that you like best and go from there!!!

DA is a fun project car and easy to work on... Ohh I have one for sale... Did I say that? Naw... i think it comes to personal preference... I have had 4 DA's and now a DC. I will probably own another Gen2 again. Just an Aztec GSR again!!!

Re: (clean3two3)
unfortunately the rsx type-s has a shitty suspension setup in comparison with a civic or integra... I love the 94-01 integra, but then again it seems like everyone does, which kinda sucks.

just cuz its a different design does not mean its shitty. whats so bad about ppl liking DC's, what is everyones obsession with being out of the box different. there are plenty of combinations to make a DC your own
DA's are outdated and DB's are just plain ugly

Seriously, the dc5 macpherson struts designs suck! it's a great stiff chassis but shitty suspension, try getting an rsx type-s to rotate properly around a turn, almost impossible! even with coilovers & a larger rear sway bar, still difficult... I can go much faster around a turn in my much slower dc4 just because I have a proper suspension set up...
