I'm having the same exact problem, on the my driver side in my DC. It could be bad weather stripping, but I'm also missing some front windshield trim. Any answers will be great help.

Re: Wet carpet ...looking for possible answers
One problem in just about every Honda I've seen is the gaskets behind the tail lights leaking, however this usually leaves a bunch of moisture in the trunk and under the back seat. However I have heard of certain drains getting plugged under the plastic piece behind the hood leading to water overflowing and getting into the intake for the ventilation system.

normal would mean it did it right from the factory. i think the word you mean is common.
pull the trim out from whatever side the carpet is wet from. climb inside. have someone hose down the car until you see where the leak is coming from.
check your sunroof drains, as they are common to plug over the 10-20 years that they don't see light of day

Re: Wet carpet ...looking for possible answers
if your front passenger floor is getting wet it is almost definitely the windshield cowl seals which leaks down through your blower motor housing usualy ruining your blower motor and blower motor resistor as well.

Re: Wet carpet ...looking for possible answers
There's another thread that's probably about 15 pages long now and they've listed just about every place your car could be leaking from. I had this problem the past two weeks and it was horrible, I was stepping into pools of water. Over the past weekend I finally got around to gutting the car and ripping everything out including the carpet. The amount of water in there was amazing. It had all been leaking into my tail light and after my tail light filled up about half way it was dumping all that water into my trunk where the spare tire was. When I went to work on Monday (after 3 days of raining) I came up on a stop light where I hit the brakes and heard the sound of rushing water in my car.
Turns out the trunk filled up pretty well and all that water just came rushing underneath the back seats and dumping all into the cabin. I have some photos but its hard to see where all that water was. The back seats were soaking with some water still in the recesses of the frame. Damn thing was like a sponge.
Everyone has given good suggestions on sitting in your car and having a friend hose it down. I had my bro spray the whole car and found two leaks. One underneath the front passenger area behind the glove compartment. Probably that blower thing someone else mentioned but I'm not real car savvy so I have no idea how to fix that. The other was the one that most people have which was one of the tail lights (my right tail light). We replaced the gasket with some material we had and used some permatex RTV to seal the top where it looked like water could get in. Unfortunately I didn't take photos. I'll be replacing that tail light soon, though.
Hopefully you get it fixed as it's a real bitch to get in your car out of the rain only to be sitting in a **** load of water all the way home. It's been a whole 3 days and I still don't think my carpets are completely dry. The floor mats are still a bit wet but the carpeting that's all over the car is still pretty damp.

Re: Wet carpet ...looking for possible answers
it could be the hatch seal. very common. also if ur car ha s ever been hit in back the weld joint where they put joint sealer will leak.
thats were mine leaked so welded up the seams. solved the prob.
if you have a sunroof you need to check it carefully if all the carpets r wet.
if you didnt drive it while it was raining its unlikely its the trunk. unless the trunk had a swiming pool in it. it has to go over the back seats if you have water in the passenger compartment.

my carpet has also been very wet. my car does not leak. all the leaks r welded up unless its the tail lights. if it was i wold hear a pool in my car when i drove.
the biggest prob now is getting in and out of her when its raining. if the carpet is only wet in the drivers compartment its u and ur feet. nothing u can do. otherwis run a hose and see where its coming from.

Must be a taillight leak or hatch leak somewhere.

Re: Wet carpet ...looking for possible answers
Is there a way to fix a taillight leak? Sounds like I have the same symptoms as x95DC2 (pool of water in spare tire well plus wet back seats).

Re: Wet carpet ...looking for possible answers
its very simple,
get some clear silicone and take out your tailights spread a nice layer of silicone between the housing and the lense or whatever it is. go over it with your finger, let it dry, put them back in and you are good.

Re: Wet carpet ...looking for possible answers
After hosing down the trunk area and seeing where all that water was gathering before it started dumping into the trunk, it only made sense to do it as a precautionary measure if the silicone didn't completely seal it. I must have drilled about 7-10 holes in strategic positions to just drain the water immediately.
We had some pretty heavy downpour here in Anaheim (Southern California) the other day and it stopped at around lunch time. I went out to my car and popped the trunk and my trunk was dry and you'd never know I had a leak. I left everything out of the car because we're supposed to be getting some rain again soon. I wanna make sure I fixed it completely so the car is pretty bare. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures before I put some of the paneling back on but It's not too difficult if you really want to see it.
Send me a PM and I'll get some pictures of what/where I drilled when I get a chance and also where I had to apply the silicone.

The leak in the front is from the inner cowl seals that go over your blower motor housing.

Re: Wet carpet ...looking for possible answers
if its manual, and you have an issue with clutch fluid leaking your clutch master cyl could be leaking inside your car... friend of mine had this happen... that was fun

Re: Wet carpet ...looking for possible answers
fact of the matter is that there are dozens of seals/places water could be getting in from to cause the same symptoms. without pulling the trim and hosing it down, you're just firing in the dark. gravity causes water to pool on the floor no matter where it is leaking from.
pulling the trim is the only way

Honda and Hondacare will not help you, at least they were unwilling to do anything for me. I have a 2004 pilot that leaks water under the floorboard when it rains. I purchased the Pilot used along with a Hondacare extended warranty. The pilot had 40,000 miles when purchased in 2007 and approximately 75,000 When we first noticed the leak in 2009.
Not only will Honda Care not cover the "structural" defect, they also say they will not cover any damage caused by the "structural" defect. If the electrical system fails because of water damage causing the air bags not to work, too bad. Car always smells like wet dog. Dealer, O'Danial Honda of Omaha, even less help. They smeared some caulk where they thought the leak might be, then told me there was nothing mire they could do. Been a loyal Honda customer for years, no more, just bought a 2010 Jetta TDI. Doesn't leak and i don't smell like crap after driving it.

Also check the headliner, if it's wet it is probably a sunroof drain hose that came loose usually omn the passenger side.
