tire sizes on stock rims

Re: tire sizes on stock rims (AfroPuff)
Are 195's much different than 205/50 as far as diameter?
I'm using 205/50/15 now, but may go to 195/50/15 with the bridgestone so3's.
any comments?
195/205 is the thread width not the diameter
actually it's the section width.
which section?

quoted from tirerack.com's site:
The first number is the width of the tire in millimeters, measured from sidewall to sidewall.

Tires available in 195/55/15 that I considered when looking for replacements for the stock XGT's ...
Yokohama AVS ES100
Dunlop SP Sport 9,000
(and, well those are the only two that I really considered)
Kumho probably makes some in that size too.
What do you want to use the tires for and how much do you have to spend?
Another thing to consider is how often can you afford to get new rubbers? All of
those should determine what kind of tires you get.
Handling (things like turn in) will be crisper with the 195/55's on the stock Geezer rim. A buddy who runs on
road courses often (and has had opportunity to run SO-3's, Dunlops, Azenis, and the AVS ES 100) says that
the Yokos are only a step behind the Azenis and SO-3 as far as handling and traction are concerned, but
wear out much less quickly.

Re: (strider7slvr2k1gsr)
Ive got the 195/50/15 es100's on my car right now. used them at 2 autox events, and all i can say is that they are great. great price ($53each) good grip and should last decently long.
oh and 195s are perfect for integras, especially with the stock 6" rim. i had 205 on before and now with the 195 the steering response is much crisper.
if you have a 7" wide rim then get a 205 series tire. if not then a 195.
tire selection in 195/50/15 195/55/15 and 205/50/15 is pretty much the same.
