Default Story of my first Integra... (Updated February 17, 2011) *Finally fixed bumper*

Bumper fix: Page 6

I bought the car "used" with 68,835 miles on it for $6,000 (flat) from a "Used Car Dealership." It seemed GREAT when I bought it. It drove perfectly fine, was powerful and I loved it. However, as soon as I got it home, it started running hot. The dealership had put a patch in the radiator and it fell out so I had to buy a new radiator ($225 for radiator + labor.)

About a week after that, I was driving around and I heard a God-awful noise. The next morning, the car wouldn't shift into first gear. Come to find out, the transmission casing had busted open on the bottom.

So, I'm currently in the process of getting a used transmission, new clutch, new brakes and new rotors.

I have to take the tint off because it's 18% and in Georgia, the legal limit is 32%. But other than that, I can pretty much start working on performance as soon as I fix everything else.

Just figured I'd share my story because I like reading everyone else's stories. hahah, thanks for reading and I will keep this updated.

Any suggestions on what to do next?

Gl with the fixes to the car. Exterior/interior looks excellent though.

I got a pet peeve for saggy shift boots like yours. Just untwist the **** a bit, pull the top of the boot up the the **** and twist it back down. That should keep the boot at the correct place.

Some suggestions I think you should do is remove the dealer's decal on your trunk. And then a drop lip/rims would be nice

Hahah, mine is so clean! And I have absolutely no idea. I took it to an actual auto shop and they said that something must have been wrong with it for a while, because I haven't hit anything, nor have I gone fast over any speed bumps/rail road tracks, etc.

I did, but they don't. And the "lemon law" isn't valid here because in Georgia, the lemon law only applies to new cars. Since I bought it "Used," from a "Used Car Dealership" and signed an "As-Is" contract, then it's my problem now. Whatever, though. I have a job, I'll have it fixed.

Thanks! It should been done in the next couple of weeks, I've already started.

I've been wondering why that looked so awful, haha. Thanks, I'll do that.

I'm definitely going to remove the decal and I'm thinking about a body kit because I forgot to mention that the front bumper has been beaten up before I got it and it wasn't put back on correctly so the entire thing is ****ed up. Also, the back bumper recently had someone back into it, it cracked, and they drove off.

And rims are a must. I just have to wait until I find some money for those.

when you get your old tranny out, throw it through the "used car dealership"'s window.

also- if you talk about body kits on this forum, people will hate you. just saying

Doesn't sound like you've had much luck so far. Car looks clean as hell though.

+1 on the throw the old tranny through the used car dealer's window!

I would atleast bring this to the dealerships attention if they would care at all about customer service they would help with costs of repairs or atleast throw some free stuff your way most dealerships will help you out...If not I would just talk **** on them everywhere like bbb,car forums, review sites,etc.... and if that doesnt feel your need to get back at them i would take wastedyouth's idea and throw the tranny....and burn the showroom down and a few cars that would get the point through
And no body kit man inless you doing something made in japan.......

but good find on the ls that thing is super clean

Please please please, no body kits ;( Save for a nice suspension, maybe a black interior conversion, and put the rest of your attention engine-wise.
Horrible story, but the teg is clean.

Hahah, I don't want to get thrown in jail.
And I didn't mean a riced out body kit... I meant a new, stock, front bumper, rear bumper, etc.

Yeah, it has been inactive longer than it has been active, but it is very clean. Thank you.

I hadn't even noticed. Thanks for pointing that out. I've been thinking about buying new ones anyway.

That sucks, man, but I definitely feel your pain... mine all happened within the first 2 weeks.

I had a family member install the radiator and I watched him do it. He's a certified Acura/Honda technician.

I'm going to have him do all installations and teach me as he goes.

Car looks very clean. If I were you I'd keep my eye open wide for somebody selling a complete black interior, tan is horrible.

Should I try to switch over to leather as well?
Or should I save up and buy racing seats, etc.? I think that would kind of be overkill.

lol my car isnt worth as much as that, plus it has alot of body work that still needs to be done. They are seriously just so impossible to find in that clean of condition if it is as clean as it is in the pics. It looks as though it was garage kept most of the time, and the paint was well taken care of, as well as the interior. I would leave that car bone stock inside and out and just mod the engine and brakes, it would be a awesome sleeper.

NO!!!! To the body kit idea. Nice looking car as is. And as far as the trans issue goes, just skip getting a LS transmission and get a GSR.

It is just as clean as it is in the pictures, if not a little better now. I've waxed it and put armor-all on the tires, so it shines a bit more.

If I wanted to do an engine swap, should I save up for a K-Swap, a 2jz, or try and find a Type-R/GSR engine with low mileage?

EDIT: I currently have the 1.8L i4, no DOHC, no VTEC.

I was wondering, did black LS ever come with tan interior? That paint is seriously clean.
As for the engine swap, i would not recommend a K series. You do not have enough knowledge for such work. Type-R would be great, but GSR is also very good
