Re: sohc into Dc integra question please help
nope im not trying to boost or anything, i just want to slap in the single i have, imight just leave it in there just as long as it rides decent. like i said before, im not a speed racer fan, im just more of a clean looks kinda guy so the slower and lower the better, when i finish, i want to be able to own the dumpstars thread lol.
na but thanks for all the input guys. oh btw, i did buy that gsr shell. here is a pic. not bad for only 100 dollar

Hey for a hundred bucks I'd swap that D in it, when its all said and done rather you swap a more powerful motor in it or not you'll probably came out with less money spent then half the people I know. Nice find

Re: sohc into Dc integra question please help
i dunno about getting mpg of a civic tegs are quite a bit heavier and will therefore drop the mpg rating by like 5 which in turn meaning you're back to stock teg mpg of around 28-30~ for average epa listing. i know some ppl who get over 33+ on ls gsr OR itr motors but less go according to epa for this example
civic is what like 25-39?
teg is 25/30 and a couple hundred pounds heavier
this means that the torqueless and powerless d-series will have to work very hard to move that teg. = more throttle = more gas wasted

correction, a 99 civic ex 4 door single cam vtec weighs 2,513 lbs
a 96 gsr which is what my car is weighs 2,667
now do the math, the integra is 154 lbs heavier than the civic 4 door ex but also remember that the gsr swap also weight twice as much as the single cam.
soooo that being said, if i put the single cam in the teg than the tegs weight will be just around the same as a civic 4 door ex with the same motor.
oh and btw, i searched around for numbers and did my math so all these numbers and calculations are corrrect.
get my drift?

wow do i have a dead body hidden in my car? i've got it weighed at 28xx (NEARLY at the 2.9k point!!) during smogs and it was listed the same weight on both smogs...
i doubt the 2nd time it was possible because it was like a very skinny 5ft guy...

ah dude, DO IT. don't listen to anyone who says this is silly or cruel to integra owners everywhere, etc. you do what you want. you're going to anyway so why would people try to sway you.
drop it in, drive it. done.
