Slave/Master Clyinder? Or Clutch?
So last night I'm leaving to go meet up some friends then when I try to pull out its really hard to get into my first gear. I manage and drive to the gate of my apartments and but it in neuteral and try to go back into first and it won't budge at all. I can get 5th or reverse but nothing else. After a few minutes I manage to get 1st so I turn around and park.
I've been meaning to get transmission fluid put in but I dont have to tools so I figured I was out of fluid so I had some put in today and still no luck but I managed to make it home.
I popped the hood and l checked to see if I clutch fluid and theres some in there but its dark and dirty as all hell. Then I checked the slave cylinder and I noticed the rubber boot is torn really bad. (Im hoping this is the problem)
Basically im stuck and hoping its not the clutch. When I push in the clutch its really soft theres hardly any pressure. It doesn't stick to the floor but its just really easy to press all the way to the floor.

I would say its your slave cylinder since the boot is torn, did it look like it was leaking fluid at all?
Does your tranny grind when you are trying to put it into gear?

I had a problem like this, my clutch pedal would stick to the floor and such and like it just wouldnt go into gears and the pedal just wouldnt come back like there was pressure behind it...
So if its problems with your pedal sticking and or just not going into gears...
I just replaced my slave and master cylinders and BAM, good as new.... worked perfectly

i had a leaking slave cylinder, and it caused me to have to put in new fluid every 2 weeks of so. everytime i bled the clutch fluid, is was black as f.uck.
my 2 cents

I had the same problem with my 94 LS. Managed to get some brake fluid, fill the resivour(sp?), pump the clutch and drive home, having to pump the clutch every time I stopped. Turns out my master and slave died. Simple fix though

When i check the rubber around the slave it was all dry. I replaced it bout a year ago but it was leaking bad and when I pressed the clutch it would stick and i'd have to lift it up with my foot. Yet this time I can press the pedal and with no effort itll go to the floor yet it comes back up too.
1st-3rd is damn near impossible to get in gear when the car is on but 4th and 5th I can get but it grinds like hell.
Im gonna bleed the clutch when my brother gets home but my question is someone told me I should put a lil rubber hose on the end of the bleeder valve and put it in a container with liquid..is this mandatory or is there another way of doing it without gettin air in the lines?

This is not mandatory - it just keeps you from potentially spraying brake fluid all over your radiator and hoses. You can put a rag over the end of the bleeder valve. Before you even loosen the valve though, you should fill the reservoir and have your brother pump the pedal - if there is a leak somewhere, you should be able to hear and then see where it's coming from.
If you replaced your slave last year, then I suppose it could be your MC now.
Good luck!

I replaced the CMC and I still have a mushy clutch. I bled the hell out of it and check the SMC and it wasn't leaking, So what am I looking at here..clutch job?

i had a similar problem. i was only abe to shift when engine speed and vehicle speed matched for the gear i wanted. shifted ok when i granny shifted, if i wound out a gear i couldn't get the next gear until the revs dropped to 3.5k or so. and i could only down shift when rolling by heel and toeing it. got a new clutch and it shifted like new. 96ls 95k miles. Oh yeah, 7 different shops told me i had bad clutch hydraulics but it wasn't the case.
