Ok so a few weeks ago i did a S2k Cluster swap on my gf's 96 LS, works great lights up fine and dandy, got the speedo healer hooked up and im running my own temp gauge not using the s2k one. the problem persists with the fuel level, its not reading accurately. I read in a bunch of forums and stuff you need a resistor and such but i was wondering if anyone here has done it, and knows which one to use exactly and where to wire it up, at the pump? or the back of the gauge? help will be appreciated thank you.

ok first off the 96 LS fuel guage sender should read 105~110 omhs on E 25.5~39.5 ohm's @1/2 tank and 2~5 ohm's at F

the 2001 S2000 fuel guage sender should read 130~132 omhs on E 114.4~120.4 @ LOW 52~58 ohm's @1/2 tank and 11~13 ohm's at F

So @ F you would need to add a 25 ohm minimum resister
but @ E you only need a 9 ohm resister

this means that you would have to find a digital converter of some type.

i ran a search on google and was unable to find any such converters

I've heard of People putting 15ohm resistors and stuff and it being more accurate than it is now, and basically that's all I'm asking for, I just wanna get it as accurate as I can

if thats all your after then get a 5watt 15 Ohm resister and put it inline on the wire for the fuel level behind the cluster.

Where can i get a 15-OHM, 5 watt resistor? radio shack only has 1/4, 1/2, 1/8, 10, 1 watt

try auto parts store ask for the LED turn signal load kit.

if that is not going to work then you have to order it from radio shack they offer alot of stuff not found in there stores any more but they can order it. most of the time the employees (95% of them only know how to sell a cell phone) have no idea they can order electronic parts let alone what a light bulb is.

aslong as it is in a ceramic cassing it should be fine. 5Watt an higher should all be in a high heat cassing.
