why run oem lug nuts on a rim that has a lugnut seating surface that is different from the oem seating surface? on the oem lugnuts the seating surface is curved while on pretty much all aftermarket rims the seating surface is straight up conical, not matching up the shape of the seating surface = bad news

As for the RX-7, that is way old news, and the incident in question was not a result of 20 aftermarket lug nuts all failing at the same time
