Rear Shock assembly
Well in my continuing saga to get my shocks and coilovers on I got the new control arms and bolted up the shocks today. I got everything back together and I took the car around the block. I hit a bump and I heard a thud and then another one from the other side. I drove around the block and pulled back into my driveway. I popped the back and I look and the shock shaft is at full extension and the rubber bushing ir stuck to the shaft. So now the shock doesn't compress. I thought I put everything back together right but apparently not... What is supposed to hold the rubber in the cap of the shock? I put the metal washer and the nut supplied by KYB on there but it looks like the rubber just popped out.. Did I miss something when putting it together?
The shocks are KYB AGXs and Skunk2 coilovers. Thanks!

hmm I'm not sure what rubber your talking about.. the rubber bushings on top of and bottom of the shock cap? there is an ID spindle/hollow metal tube (not sure what its officially called) between them... and there is metal washers on top and bottom.. lemme try and do an ansi drawing lolz
[] <--shock rod
[ ] <-- kyb supplied nut/fastener
------- <---metal washer
[ | | ] <-- rubber washer w/ ID spindle in it
[ | | ] <--top shock cap
[ | | ] <--rubber washer w/ ID spindle thru it
--------- <--metal washer
and below this is your dustboot...a washer, bumpstop, that collar thing that KYB supplies..
yeah i know the ansi drawing is whack.. but u get the idea.. lolz..

Re: Rear Shock assembly (GSRaCeRbOI)
I see what happened. Skunk2 says not to use the dust cover with the coilovers (probably cause it would hit the threaded sleeve) and I left out the washer that goes on the top of that. That allowed the collar the KYB supplies to push up through the lower bushing and pulled the top bushing with it. You can see pics of what happened here.

hahah the saga continues..
anyways looks like u left out the lower washer which sits under the shock cap/lower bushing.. if it was there.. it would not have pushed itself though the rubber bushings and up on out...
don't feel bad though.. I remember about a month ago.. a guy got his Koni's installed and a SHOP did the same thing
good luck getting it in working order..

lolz mike.. study those links I supplied.. w/ the links and the KYB supplied instructions/image diagram.. I don't see how you could mess up again.. as you'd probably be damn careful to put in all the washers this time.. good luck..
