rear main seal torque specs
just wondering what the rear main seal torque specs are... in my haynes manual it says 96 ft-lbs but that seems pretty high for those little 10mm bolts - i might also be reading the specs for something else and am unaware.

Re: rear main seal torque specs (tegasaurus)
i found that # 1 and 5 main cap's have 56lb/ft (11mm bolt)
the seal cover plate is 8 lb/ft (6mm bolt)
and the seals themselves are drive in, so they dont have a torque spec.
these are the honda specs. i dont know what else you'd be looking for, but please give some better info on what you are. also, please put up the year/car/motor in tech posts.

i already know the main cap specs... and those you provided are for the GSR/itr (56 outside and 49 in 1/2/3 i think). oh well... i just secured the bolts on their firmly with the smallest ratchet i had... so im guessing 10-15 ft/lbs

Re: rear main seal torque specs (tegasaurus)
With some hondabond, that should be fine. you realy don't need to torque those tiny bolts with the 10mm head.
