Default Question

My alternator died so now i am charging the battery back up ( battery is 1 yr old) and i have to drive 1 hour to get it to where it will be fixed.

Do you think the battery will last for an hour? no lights or anything else like that will be on.

Thanks

I don't think it will last a full hour, but maybe. It will probably last 35-40 min so just bring a spare battery and you should be fine.

It could, depends on how charged the battery is. Is the alternator charging at all or is it a goner?

:: ontopic :: you might be lucky to get 30mins on a dead alternator. just bring some jumper cables with you.

Guys,
This will be a fully charged battery. You still think that it wont last??? I have just bought a new battery for back up but the whole trip without an alternator will be about 2:40 minutes. For that trip, i will have 3 batteries.....whatcha think?

Thanks

you'll be fine, what's life without an adventure? Seriously, if it dies halfway the tow the rest of the way will be cheaper, it's not something i'd worry as much about especially if i had 3 batteries

if you are looking for a high-output alternator, i can hook you up with one, that will get rid of your problem and help prevent it from ever happening again.
