QUESTION!
I have stock GS-R rims on my Integ right now. I'm about to switch to 16 inch White Rims.
Will the bigger wheels slow me down on my 1/4? How does it affect Acceleration? PLMK. Thanks!

Re: QUESTION! (teg94)
I'll either sell them or trade them. My stock GS-R rims are almost BRAND NEW! Only 6000 miles on my car. You interested in buying them? LMK.

Re: QUESTION! (GS-Racer)
It depends how much your new wheels weigh. It's not a big difference, but noticeable if they're much heavier. They should definitely give you better handling as a result of an increased footprint, especially if you go wider than stock.

Re: QUESTION! (GS-Racer)
if look into the details you can find 16" that weigh the same or less as your stock 15" (this is what i did). the gsr wheel is roughly 16lbs (at least for 94-95 and 96). here's an old chart that has been passed around and copied forever...

Re: QUESTION! (GS-Racer)
The latest SCC magazine has an tech article on a similar issue.
I have the article at home, but off the top of my head...
Mass on rotating objects is more significant of an impact than static mass in your car.
They mention how adding 1 lb to your tire, would be equivalent to 8 lbs in your car. Adding 1 lb to your rims, adds 6 lbs to your car.
This has to do with moment and inertia, blah blah blah...

Re: QUESTION! (mattymatt)
As long as the rims weigh as much, if not less than your stockers than your fine, adding weight is never good.

Re: QUESTION! (N4Speed07)
That's what I've been hearing...
That's why I'm greatly thinkin about just Powder coating my stock rims either White or Gun Metal Black.
I heard 16's or 17's hurt the 1/4 mile times and that its good for grip and just for the looks.
Anyone have pictures of stock GS-R rims powder coated? Also, how much do you think it'll cost??
