250k+ 4dr 96GSR, still had more to go. Ran strong with no oil burning or smoking.
10k+ on current build in the car now.

I just sold a 93 ex civic, that had 321xxx on it. Completely stock, ran great, no leaks, no smoke at all.
I was the 3rd owner. My uncle the first, cousin the second. third me. NO REBUILD DONE EVER.

Only (what I assume is) the typical oil loss we all get with VTEC engines. I'm usually half a liter short between oil changes but I always have been. The awesome thing is the compression numbers:
215/214/215/213 no lie. Fuel economy is 36 hwy, and the idle is very even. I just installed BloxA cams and did a valve lash adjustment and the engine is silky smooth. When you get your engine in order and adjust your rockers you'll see how nice it revs afterwards.
I got no dyno or 1/4 mile times to speak to the performance, but I know the engine is happy.

I've definitely gotten worse than that when I wasn't keeping records. I remember a trip across SD driving into a really bad headwind where we got mid to low 20's going 75.

Damm I lied, it's 34.2 mpg LOL! I checked my records and I got a minimum of 30.4 and a max of 40.1, but an average of 34 mpg. I get about 25 in the city probably.

Re: Post you very high mileage gsr's
dude until you get to 200k thats high mileage, or is that just me. This 150k and lower is not even close to high mileage. If you beat the **** out of it it will decrease the life, or if you beat the **** out of it yet baby it, say full synthetic and ever 3k change, it will still run fine. My LS had almost 160k runs like a ****ing champ, and i beat the **** out of it every single day. redline all the time, almost every day.
I just got a gsr, it has 76k its a 1995 paid 3k for it. last week.lol. runs super strong. needed a brake master cylinder, and the previous owner dropped it on it shitting springs so it sweaks. but D2 coilovers will fix that next semester.
imports if taken care of will run forver, my buddy has a 90 240sx coupe 432,000 miles and he drifts it. still runs fine, boosting it soon till it blows.. lol

Re: Post you very high mileage gsr's
ur valves rockers prolly need shimmed. its recommended at 100k to check that and shim it if needed. my ls ticked barely but i think its cause of that, unless you have a knock. then i am sorry that sucks.

'94 GS-R, 198K miles. Rebuilt at 174K, since then using very little oil (approx 1 quart per 4000 miles).
More on the oil consumption... It was using 1 quart per 1000 miles when it had 130-165K miles on it, was using 1 quart per 500 miles when it had 165-174K miles. At 174K we found some coolant in the oil, indicating that the head gasket was leaking, so that's why we did the rebuild. (Otherwise I would have just kept adding a quart every 500 miles, which is more cost-effective than spending a lot of money for a rebuild.)

Re: Post you very high mileage gsr's
Yeah I have an 95 gs-r With 170k miles on original everything. Motor still runs strong! Good compression, only leak is slight around valve cover gasket. I take up close to 8100rpms everyday! Yeah she burns oil just like every honda w/ over 100k. I go through a quart of synthetic oil every 1000 miles easily so I will probably be switching back to good ol' cheap petroleum 5w-30.
When I was using 0w-20 that crap would just disappear in a matter of like 300-400 miles!! It sure ran amazing with this light of an oil in the crankcase though! It wrapped up in rpms a bit faster.
