Default possible theft plot on my teg

I am pretty pissed off right about now, especially when i was sitting in my room and all of the sudden i heard a car with a loud exhaust drive by my house. I live on a dead end and i know noone has a loud car on my block besides my brother. So i take a peak outside my window and its a silver civic si (03 about), drive past my house turn around at the dead end and then stop and stare at my car that is parked in the driveway, for about 10 seconds. Im like what the F#@*, just when i was about to run outside to try to talk to the kid about wtf hes doing he runs off.

What should i do if they are plotting to steal my car? i may seem a bit paranoid about it but its my car and i dont want to take any chances, and im just about ready to go nuts on someone.

Do all the typical security stuff asap.
Relocate hood release cable, fuel cut-off, window lock bypass, ignition cut-off, autolock, club.

You can do all of those things I just listed in a single day.

You can also try to block your car into a driveway with other cars or park in a garage.

i have an alarm. im also trying to get an alpha lock asap. what else blocking the car off wont do me any good bc if the car can be started then the person can just drive on the grass next to the driveway...this is frustrating

werd ive had those instances where i think people tryna take my car and i know the feeling. seriously dont take the matter lightly! do something about it before you regret it. garage it if you can. if not sleep in the car load up the shotty. lol. but yeah just take all the precautionary steps. block it in. take out ecu, clutch lock. add anything you can cuz chances are they'll be back. im from so cal and we dont take shyt like this lightly cuz all the cars around here get jacked so yeah. take it as a warning. good luck!

My friend went through this when he street raced a guy. The looser scoped out the car for a week, hanging around where he shouldn't.

Since then, we installed an ignition kill switch and hid it under the dash board. Its an interrupt to the ignition system, so electricity can't get to the spark plugs unless he finds the switch.

Its a relatively easy thing to install. Its not completely fool proof, you can bypass it if you know your stuff about car electrical systems. It should stop all but the most skilled of thieves.

lets see... its the weekend, and that is when this crime would most likely take place. so what i would do is if you have a gun, ball bat or a weapon of choice, i would sleep in the back seat. wait for them to do the "deed" and pummel their asses. then hog tie them to something and call the po-po. this would be called making a citizens arrest, (i think). tell the po-po that you felt threatened and you were protecting yourself and personal goods and thats why you expletiveed them bitches up. this is why i park my teg in a barn i rent as a garage for 50 bucks a month and use a 94 buick, and a probe as a daily driver.

lol im actually on my way to radioshack to pick up a surveillance camera. im also about to install a motion sensor outside my window (where the car is parked). so if there is any movement the lights will go on and so will the camera. the camera is being linked to a server its pretty convenient and pretty cheap, only 200 for the package lol. im installing it so i dont have to pay for labor. plus i already got an alpha lock my buddy is calling me up in a couple hours to bring it over. the funny thing is the guy who just drove outside my house is probably reading this...

security cameras and lights won't really do much... a few snips and they're useless.

If you think time is a factor, at the very least make a fuel cut-off, unhook your door lock switches, and bypass the fender with your hood latch cable.

Even if he reads this, those are still things that will make it much less easy to steal.

There's no doubt that there are theives present on HT, but some people steal it's a sad fact of life. What I would do to protect your car is layer as many anti theft systems as possible. Get a short hub, quick release and a lock. Wire a fuel cut off switch and hide it, Clutch locks etc. Make it as hard as possible to get your car moving unless they have a tow. Bc unless you have a gun or something, lights and cameras arent going to really scare too many people away. A GPS system would be awesome too so if it goes missing po po will be notified and you'll get your car back or at least most of the pieces.

lowjack

and a camera will at least help find out who it is if it does get stolen, also: see if you can get that motion sensor light thing to have a little beeper in your room so if it does trip, you can take a look. only problem with that is neighborhood animals are gonna bug the hell out of you.

to be honest, this is the gayest thing ever. this shouldnt even be an issue, but there are dumbass, disrespectful kids out there who are who whiny to work for what they want.

the worst part about kids is: no matter what you tell them, they just dont care. they think they know everything... or just dont care. now mind you, this is comming from a 19 year old. with a sister who just turned 13. damn i hate kids. even kids older than me.

you could always run a motion sensor wire to a spot light in your room, that way when the thieves get there, it wakes you up and.... kick their asses.

if you are going to go through all that trouble.....then take all the plug wires out of it at night...they are quick to uninstall and reinstall....and i rather take 3 minutes to put them in then to take 3 years to try and find my car...

you have a lot of good responses and it sounds like you're taking the right precautionary measures, but dont let up make sure they DONT get your whip...i used to suspect shadiness but i never went a step further, i always thought it was some bum interested in my head unit.
you said the car was sitting down the block, maybe its a neighbors friend? nonetheless, layer-on.

it could be the neighbors friend even though i doubt it bc i know most of the kids around here. im staying up most of the night regardless just to see who drives by or if i hear nething. and tomorrow i will install my lights and such. my friend finally brought me that alpha lock so thats another layer of security.

just make sure when you put your motion sensors up to set them for very sensitive, make sure they go off if a cat walks 20 feet away.
