Piston bore help! b18c1
hey so i blew my high compression pistons in my b18c1. the block is bored 050 over to b18c5(i had jdm type r pistons .050 over in there). I have a turbo kit on now so im rebuilding it low compression, the pistons im getting are availible in standard 81mm bore, 81.5mm, 81.75, and 82mm, My block is bored .050 over so does this mean i get 81.5mm? Just dont wanna mess up, THANKS!

Re: Piston bore help! b18c1
You realize that .050 is pretty much nothing.
I always thought that JDM ITR pistons were only available in standard 81, 81.25, 81.5, 81.75 and 82mm. I have never heard of a JDM ITR being available in 81.050, since that is pretty much a standard 81mm.
Are you maybe referring that you have 81.5 over ITR pistons. Because .050 seems wrong to me.

You most like have a block that is .20 over which makes it an 81.50mm bore opposed to the stock 81mm (B16a/b/B18c1/c5/b1/a1..etc). If the cylinder walls look somewhat decent with no scoring or signs of uneven ware you can possibly obtain that bore size. 82mm + boost is an Epic Fail

050 could mean just about anything, including 50 thousandths overbore (.050"). Plus if you "blew" your pistons, chances are you need to overbore the block again. Either take it to a machine shop or get a caliper and measure it....if for no other reason then the fact that it blew after 5k the first time and it could be because somebody didnt use the right size pistons in the first place.
