the best ecu for your car would be an obd2 p72.

just stick with your p72

p72=functioning engine
p28 untuned=works but not quite right
p28 tuned w/proper tuning=good power all throught the band!

Huh? Have you ever tuned a P28 and P72 (OBD1 of course)? If you did, you would realize how badly you are speaking from your ***. They are equally difficult to tune.

The P28 can't control the IAB's or knock sensor in stock form. A P72 is a much better choice on a stock or relatively stock GSR.

hahaha i second that. either tune a p28 or get a stock p72, make sure its obdII. you could also get a obdI p72 and chip that. you would need an obdII to obdI harness.
