OT: Would there be LESS integras STOLEN if...
Would there be less integras stolen if HONDA/ACURA used a single assembly line for Integras? Instead of sharing assembly with CIVICS? I mean the PRELUDE didn't share the production line with other honda's therefore not that many of them got stolen.

what you said doesnt make sense. it would not matter. i believe most of the integras were built in japan. and the civics were built in ohio. im thinking you meant sharing parts. only meant for integras.

I think some of it has to do with how the B-series motor can be swapped into civic's pretty easily, not to mention other things that can be swapped such as wheels, brakes, suspension, strut bars, tie bars, header, seats, console, even dash. But if civics were made differently and couldn't use those parts it still wouldn't stop people from stealing tegs for parts to be swapped into other tegs.

That makes sense but then none of us would own integras because they would cost a lot more because of all of the "integra only" parts. Less integras would be stolen if there were more garages.

The prelude shares chassis and parts with the accord.

i had wondered the same thing, untill i realised that just as many stock civics get stollen as stock tegs.
the guy above who said that it gets stollen just b/c its a popular car is right, i remember when chevy beretta's were always getting stolen in the early 90's, and those cars are about as worthless as you can get.
besides, i think i remeber reading a report some where recently that the newer saturns are ranked in the top five most stolen vehicles?

I doubt it would make much difference, acura built basically the same car for seven years so there are lots of people that want parts. Also people swap the parts from the teg into the civic all the time.
