Ok im currently looking at purchasing a 1994 integra....red, all power, 5 spd, 2 door LS. I has 160k miles. Is that too much? He's asking 4500. Also, how many is too many miles when looking at an integra and what usually goes bad? Thank you for your help!

160k is way too many miles on any car, i dont care if it is an acura/honda. think about it now.........i have heard that when civics integras accords etc etc are well maintained, oil changes EVERY 3k, all schuduled maintinence on time, not beaten on too badly, that they in most cases last 200k. Do u really want to spend 4500$ on 40k miles?? you might get lucky and have it last for 250k but then again you might not and have it last 165k before something major goes out in it(transmission, engine). You never know what you are gonna get with a used car, very dangerous decision if you ask me. I would say dont buy a car with over 120k no matter what kind of car it is.

160k is quite a few miles. I got my 94 ls with all power, 5 spd 2dr with 83k miles. i got it for 7000, it was in immaculate condition.

If you can get the car for 4000, then spend 3500 on a total rebuild of the car, get it sleeved, 8.5:1 compression pistons, eagle rods, new seals and bearings, get a new fluidine radiator, new hoses, get a new clutch/flywheel and tranny rebuild. Then that will last for another 160k miles. While driving it like that, save up for a nice turbo kit. If i was to buy my first car over again (this is my first car) i definatly would have gone that route. And if you don't have 3500 for a rebuild, then just drive the 160k mile car nice and slow, no speed runs, change the oil very often etc (just so it won't **** out on you). Then when you do havet he money, rebuild it!

i have a 94 ls auto and i bought it with also around 160K miles and right now it has 190K+ miles and is still running really strong ... and i bought it for $3000 so maybe what he is asking for is a little too much ...

I got mine about 8 months ago and no problem. Doens't burn any oil or anything. The tranny shift nice and smooth. It's a 94 ls with 142k. It pass the emmision test in NJ with no problems. It depends a lot on how it was taken care of.

Well if u go by the system of 20 k a year a 1994 should be around 160k if im not mistaken... im also looking into buy a GSR 1998 with 94k on it. a little too much but still good... how much is the Ls???

that is alot of miles. but the price aint too bad. if he sold it for $4000 then i would get it. that extra $500 could be spent on a new motor.

I opened my LS SE motor up at 109,000 miles ... engine looked great ... everything was within service spec... and the machine shop guy said that he would even reused the bearings ... that says a lot for a motor with over 100k

if honda motors are taken care of properly .. they will last

Yeah, I mean you can negotiate the purchase price down enough on a car like that, then allocate that saved money into an emergency engine account, and when your LS blows just buy a new one.

Well, my 95 GSR got 201K Km. ( I am in Canada) 60% highway driven.
No major problem to date. Just nornal wear like syncro in tranny and clutch. These i don't think its a problem at all. Engine internal is still the same parts since day one. BTW, I use the top oil and best gas since day one. Not to mention i race it in track and autoX too.
So I guess it all depend on how the ex-owner take care of it.

City/highway miles can make quite a difference...I detailed a 93 Accord last summer with almost 300K highway miles on it and the thing still purred (you could barely hear it idle). Like everyone else has said...you have to drive it first to see how it runs/drives.

yo dogg...160k? are u ******* shittin me...? thats way too much! i bought a 94 ls w/ only 55k orig mi about 3/mo ago and only paid 7300 and the car was in perfect condition. def dont buy that car...wait for another one...honda/acura yeah, theyll last for a long while if you treat em right but no doubt, never buy a used car with over a 100K. i made that mistake with my old 300z. dont **** with that...you'll end up rebuilding the motor for sure if u do.

Too much, bought a '95 GSR with 55K mi. for $7K. SHop around, I took over 6 months to find my car, then again you may find one tomorrow, it will take you less time if you are in a highly populated state.

i thought my gsr had high milage(122k) when i bought it...but it ran good and it was a good price so i bought it...but hey i bought my crx with 194k miles...but i put 15 miles on it before i swapped it out
