Re: My Da9 build
Thanks man! I'm trying to get rid of it. I think the Spec2 is more of a novelty than anything. It looks badass but that damn drone and constant popping of your exhaust gets annoying VERY quick. I'm still looking for an alternative

And i love the popping sound! My exhaust fell apart and is basically straight piped with the cat, and the pop noise is fun to make lol

Re: My Da9 build
This is the thread that finally got me off my butt and got me so pumped to do not 1 but two DA builds. My avatar is my last DA-it was super clean with 53,000 original kilometers on it. Unfortunately when these cars hit trees the tree tends to win. Ive been so bummed out about losing the car that I went and bought an 08 Hyundai brand new right after crashing the Teg. Swore off ever owning or building another one bc it was too depressing to lose it. But then I saw this thread. So thanks @takin8ez and mad props on this thread and your ride; it came out great so far.
So what comes next?
Anyways Im doing a four door and a two door. Will start a thread for each when I get them next week. I might even grab that rhd four door listed on here as my 4dr project car; all depends if I can get to Cali.

@takin8ez
I had to stay away from this forum for many years just because I knew I would go cray and start building stuff again. And just like I always do I just bought a ton of parts ahead of time this weekend before I even bought any cars. I guess I just like being prepared

haha yeah man I just don't even bring drinks in the car anymore. If you open up the glove underneath the lid there are two "cupholders" there. More like circle shaped indents. It's hilarious how useless they are.

Re: My Da9 build
It was so nice out this weekend. I just had to get a few things done.
I removed the cowl as carefully as I could. Still managed to crack it almost in half . The cowl seals look ok I guess. I just lined it with 3M foam tape. Also robbed some clips from pick'npull to get it fastened down. While I was at it I painted the wiper arms with Duplicolor trim paint. I'm pretty just much getting the car ready for daily driving.
You can see the new radiator and cleaned up bay. EGR and AC stuff gone. Tucked coolant reservoir and injector wires.
Seibon hood chilling in the yard
Made a video of the exhaust before I pulled it. I cut it short because I backed into a plastic garbage can and cussed myself out lmao. No damage though.
Saggy shift boot fixed. I needed the metal bracket thingamabob. Robbed more clips to get the OEM Honda blockoff plate secured the right way. I had it glued in last year.
I decided to clean up my headlights a bit. The one behind it is half done. Such a difference.
I need to organize my tools so bad. You can see the custom door panel I made. The panel itself is pretty muffed up but it was good practice.
Non ac climate control switch. It's all in the details.
That's pretty much it. Today I'll finish the crank window motor conversion on the driver's side and get it adjusted correctly.
