Re: my 92 integra type-R build!!! (92integra-R)
got the tranny and engine apart. (4/2/06) i went down to the speed shop where i buy all my stuff (velocitytrends in jax,fl). they had my S300 and my P28 all socketed together, so i was able to pick that up . then i went ahead and put 5 bills down on that LSD, its on its way. i have to pay the rest when it arrives. this is the tranny im using,
its pretty dirty right now, but it works perfect. anyone got any suggestions on how to clean it? im worried about getting whatever i clean it with inside of it.
im working on switching everything that i have to reuse from the old engine. then i plan on stripping the rest of the engine bay, im just going to rip it all out. im not to sure of what stays and what can go, so i'll just worry about that later.

today i finished stripping to rest of the stuff in side my engine bay. theres a couple of things here and there that i got to get out but not much. everything is pretty much out that would be in the way of fresh paint. it was alot of work removing all that stuff, but i think it will be worth it in the end.
heres some progress pics,
i took all the susupsion out, that wasn't to bad. the front and back cross members where not that hard either after i disconnected the steering column. now some TLC and a pressure washer!! this thing had a power steering hose leaking. it looks like it was a little worse than i suspected.
does any one have that full-race traction bar on their DA? if so how does the radiator go in after the change.

those mounts suck. innovative is lame cuz i just put a b18c in my DA and because the driver side mount i couldnt close my hood lol. i had to use stock mount and am too lazy to take out the rest :-P. but the hydro to cable conversion for tranny worked out ok.

looking good, just be careful with velocity trends, they tried to sell me a engine that was suppose to be a obd1 b16, but it turned out to be a ls/vtec with a blown bottom end for a grand....

Re: (92integra-R)
My Full-Race traction bars were pretty easy to install with the exception of the motor mount if you have ES inserts, but it will go in. I'm very happy with the how they have worked so far but one thing that kind of scares me is, twice it's happened that I've heard a loud popping sound, but never when I was HPDE'ing the car.

That loud pop is more than likely ball joints.
But, I had the same loud popping, it was the actually bars, the big *** 19mm nut came loose... i wish they werent designed to bolt to the tow hooks, IMO they should have used the original mounting points, but im not engineer

Re: (92integra-R)
dropped the tranny and LSD off today (4-21-06)
should be able to see it back in about a week. maybe longer if they gotta order parts. i plan on getting new seals, bearings, shift forks, and a custom final drive. also wanna get any other parts that are replacable with stronger parts.
oh yeah, still waiting on the pressure washer!!!!

Re: (Lan)
well i got it all cleaned up, i didnt get to use a pressure washer on. i had to use some good ol' fashsioned elbow grease and some engine degreaser! i started by just soaking the thick greasey spots with some foaming degreaser and scrubed on them with and sponge. one of those yellow ones with the green stuff on the back. once i got the thick stuff off it thought to myself i could do the whole engine bay, so i did! i was alot of scrubbing but i got it done! i forgot to take a picture of how clean it is before i covered it up.
i put a o2 sensor in the mustang, i know somebody would ask why the hood is up!
the painter came by and said he could paint it just on how clean i scrubed it. but he is gonna get me some sand paper and some scotch brite pads from his work. so i still need some more prep-time.
the tranny should be back within the week!!! i cant wait! im getting a new 1st and 2nd gears, all new bearings, engagement rings, seals, the housing was sand blasted. the tranny people told me my shift forks looked good. so i just got what they said i needed. as soon as get it back i'll post again. i'll post pics of the paint process. probably gonna paint the bay where it sits.

Re: (89a6T)
i started prepping the paint last thursday, the old paint was really thin it didnt take much to scrub it right off. it sure did make a mess
after all the prep, we started with a grey sealer.
then the first coat of black,
after all the black dried we clear coated it twice.
we did have to battle the wind and all the trees dropping stuff, theres a little bit of trash in the clearcoats. but do expect from a front yard production? i would never paint more then the engine in the drive way. i think its alot better then before should look pretty good when i get it all back together!
