Default ls to dohc vtec swap

this is going to sound very noobish.
buttt, i might get a 98 integra ls and i was wondering what i would have to change to swap a b16 or gsr etc.
besides vtec wires obviously.

i was kinda asking more about shift linkages and axels but i guess thats also an important part in a motor swap.

You would need the ecu for the engine you are installing, and to do the wiring as you already stated. If you have a '98, you would be better to go with at least a '96 and up swap, although there are ways to go older, but I am not aware of the rules within your state, so check into those things first. There are a lot of different options, but all mounts can be used, except minor issues with things like the PS bracket (you would need to use the B16 or GSR one as the ls is different)...Good luck!

if i didnt want to keep ps with the swap i wouldnt need to worry about that though.
i dont really know about the laws, ive never heard of anyone having to get emissions tested or anything like that.

Well yes, but you never stated that you weren't keeping PS and if you get another longblock it might come on the other engine anyway. As for running without PS...thats not always a good idea, unless you do it the right way. Good luck!
