On my B18A1, I readjusted the valves, drove fine for 20 minutes at highway speeds, then the car dies. So I pull over and am able to start it back up but there's this loud knocking. Like LOUD. The knocking does vary with RPM. It's too loud to be fuel injectors and I think too loud to be my valve adjustment. Anyone know what this sounds like? I'm thinking piston slap but I really have no idea.

WHY THE HELL ARE YOU RUNNING IT??? Sounds to me like you may have dropped a valve and its just flopping around in there.... Take the valve cover off and make sure all of your valves are still in place. Are you getting a misfire code?

omg the pain!!!!!!!! you def dropped a valve. you prolly forgot to tighten it up when you did the adjustment and like everyone else said you are floating a valve. take it apart emediatly

You say you just adjusted the valves...? I would pull the valve cover and check to make sure you tightened all the rockers properly. I've seen these come loose and cause a similar noise, good luck
