yep ,,, drop your ride before your ride drops you,,,,

no seriously i go and rally with my friend, he's in a 98 teg ls, and i would fear for his life when i would be driving behind him, and see the ******* body roll on that bitch

you need better suspension to handle a turbo, or you will end up, if your lucky, in a ditch

tegs can by ******* killers if you do it the right way good luck and have fun with it thats what really counts

Well, heres what i did.

1) Suspension - I went with omni sports and bought an ITR rear sway. Best ******* thing i ever did.

2) Clutch - Bought an action 2KS, Love the bitch.

3) Turbo - Pieced together a kit using everything from drag to spearco parts, ended up doing a full kit for under 1500 - second best ******* thing i ever did.

me too, you gotta have a car that handles before it can go fast, if you go fast n have shitty hadling, then there might be a safety problem.

I'll say the opposite as everybody else. I did my turbo first and loved it; drove the car every single day. The daily driveablity was improved rather than ruined. Then I did my suspension. I guess I went way overboard with my suspension cause the roads are so bad here in OH, it's like driving thru a mine field, and now I may drive the car @ once every two weeks. It's more uncomfortable and more damaging than I expected.

If the roads are as bad in Lake Forest,CA as they are here, definitely do the turbo first. If tuned correctly, you won't have any "daily driver" issues. It'll be a lot more fun to drive.

I have a turbo integ with stock GSR suspension and it's not dangerous for me. I think if you have LSD and good tires, then you'll be all right. Well now, with bald tires I just have to stay out of full boost. Stock GSR suspension is no slouch, but I would go with the suspension first if I were you. Then get a good turbo kit with a good EMS. Don't forget clutch, ignition and fuel mods.

Wirh a couple grand i would deffinatly get one hell of a suspension first. Alot of people put that stuff off as they build thier motor and wind up never getting good suspension and cheaping out on some crappy stuff. If you got the money now buy some nice suspension pieces, then save for some power mods.

NOT TRYING TO FLAME, because i noticed you recommended suspension first. but why would you invest your money on LSD and good tires but keep your stock suspension?? You can have all the power you want from your turbo...but if you cant get it down to the ground its worthless

do suspension first. i have had my gsr since sept and i have been doing a little here and there but basically saving up to do the whole supension properly at once. my car handles like a shopping cart in stock form. the suspension is something you do right once, and dont have to worry about too much once it is on there. with turbo you are gonna constantly be shelling out money to get it working right. for me turbo is one of the last things i am gonna do.

I would slow down, and save the money.
Get a good suspension set-up.
Adding power to a platform and not being able to get it to the ground in useless.
I say suspension->build up for turbo.

This is the order im doing, not saying you should do it but its a suggestion.

1. Suspension- New shocks, coilovers, camber kits, Fr&Rr strut bars, ITR 23mm rear sway bar, LCA's, DONE.
2. Brakes- New rotors, pads, caliper upgrade, SS lines DONE.
3. Wheels- New rims, tires, lug nuts DONE.
4. Turbo- Working on it.

Also im doing stuff to my car to make way for the turbo while im buying stuff.
Like some weight reduction, moved fans as pushers, better intake manifold, TB, fuel rail, FPR, lines, hoses. This is being done only because im going for high HP.

Flame away.

Finger Lickin' ain't liein, if you have a set amount of a couple grand to do this, it's not gonna work out. I had intended to spend around $1500 on a kit(mostly used parts minus the turbo). Things to make my custom kit work slowly added up, I ended up spending $3700 + dyno tuning(another $300). I chipped my own ECU, used Uberdata, bought a cheap laptop, bought a wideband, had to replace turbo after 2 months(6 month warranty my ***, the company never returned a call), in the beginning I had so many problems with oil leaks, boost leaks, all kinds of crap. I had to sort my way through different flanges and fittings to finally get the oil leaks taken care of.

Basically there are always going to be unforseen costs no matter how well you plan for it, which is why you should be prepared to spend about double what you estimate it will cost, you don't want to start the install and all that, then figure out you need some parts and you're out of cash because you've spent all your $$$.

Oh yea, and getting it to the ground is a huge problem for me, soon as I hit boost, i'm either hoppin or spinnin, do the suspension first and get some traction bars with your turbo kit.
