Keep my LS or sell it?
I just recently bought a 94 LS off my Dad's friend. It came with 147k miles, new tires, new timing belt, new CV boots, new water pump, new brakes, and a clean tan interior. Otherwise the car is completely stock, but he threw in some RSR light blue springs, I think they are the race ones. The exterior is black with faded paint on the roof, and trunk, and some random small ones around the body. It had a big dent on the driver side. My friend pulled out most of it, but it's still pretty visible. The engine still runs strong and everyone says the clutch feels pretty new for a car that old. I paid $2500 for it.
I'm still deciding on ls/vtec or turbo, but I'm probably gonna get some Koni Yellows, and new wheels and tires. Basically I wanna know if it's worth it to keep the car and fix the paint and dent and then do my mods or sell it and buy a newer LS or save up for a GSR? I also have a 92 Camry that my Dad might let me sell and keep the money. So let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

It's hard to answer questions like this. You haven't mentioned what your goals are. Are you wanting show or go? You want turbo but have you done a compression test? A leak down? Figure out what your goals are and then decide from there. You're gonna get 300 diff answers.

well it all depends how bad the body dmg is.. if its in overall clean condition personally I'd go with LS/V. but if the dmg is more than my eye can handle, I'd sell the car for about 3500 if possible, sell the camry, and get a gsr or a cleaner LS
ps, its never worth it to put money into modyfying a car no matter what you will always lose money. its all about doing it smart, so that you get the best bang for your buck and dont just go all out and modify everything little peice you'll lose tons of money. for me my plans for my gsr is
lower
rims
cf hood, hatch
bolt ons minus the muffler
oh i just remembered. i used to have this red miata in PERFECT mechanical condition ran strong as hell but it had a dented quarter panel and faded paint, I spent 4100 lowering it and doing this and that, sold it for 2200 . body>engine in terms of value

If you want to spend less money, but have alot of power then boost the LS. Don't cut corners if you want to build an LS/VTEC setup. There is no such thing as a cheap LS/V. Reliability depends on how you build it and how much money you put into it. Good luck on your car.

Thanks for the replys.
I mainly just want my car to look clean, I don't really care about body kits. And I just want a nice little fast car. Nothing outrageous.

Re: (DA9ReMiX)
what im doing is keeping my GS 91' so i can just build up the motor and when i max out my motor. when the motor is done, im gunna save up some dough and buy a newer car and swap motors. The body of my car is bad so why bother since it's a old car anyways. Just do some suspension work anti-sway bars and coil overs. And i wouldn't bother with ls/v. i HAD to learn the hard way.
Much more hp with turbo.

Re: (DA9ReMiX)
The dent isn't as big as that anymore, it looks a lot better now. I'm gonna go outside and take a new pic of the dent.

Re: (b18vtek)
edit: it thought u was talking about a 2 gen........in that case, paint it when you have a 98-99 bumper and all the upgrades needed for the newer looking style.

Re: (JTN GSR)
let me tell you something before you start the project....
1) your project is going to cost a hella alot of money
2) dont expect to get any money back from it when you try to resell it
3) if its more of a self gratification of having a nice fast car..and you're keeping it for awhile then do it...
4) if you wanna still have a nice fast car and a good resell value...get an ITR and build it up....
that is all
