JDM GSR Spark Plugs & Oil Filter
I have a JDM B18C1 and I was wondering if anyone knows what spark plugs and oil filter came on this motor stock from japan. If you know the part #'s that would help too. I lost the ones that came on the motor.
I swapped out the oil filter for a regular Blue Honda Oil filter and the stock spark plugs for NGK ones you can buy here in the states. I don't know if the plugs you buy in the states are the same as the JDM ones. Which ones are better for my Motor since it has a little bit higher compression than the USDM GSR. Thanks

nothing to worry about just use the BLUE HONDA filter and the NGK plugs from autozone
you will be just fine..
B18C could be either JDM GSR or JDM ITR
if your engine block shows B18C1.. then it's USDM GSR

if your motor is b18c1 its usdm.
jdm motors are stocked with the green hamp oil filters and applicable ngk plugs.
for comparison, im running 11.8:1 compression and using ngk iridium gsr plugs gapped to .38

OK, I just dug through my shed to see if I could find the stock JDM spark plugs and I think I found them. The ones I have in my motor now are NGK PFR6G-13 Laser Platinum Premium for a USDM Acura Integra GSR. Inside those boxes I found NGK BKR6E-N-11 which I think came with my motor that had about 46000 miles on it. So I don't know if these were even stock ones or not, maybe the owner replaced them. Does anyone know the difference. Also what is the difference between the GREEN HAMP oil filter and the BLUE HONDA oil filter. Thanks

The Japanese equivalent to the GS-R was the 93.5-95 Si-VTEC (had the same front end as USDM 94-97), and then the 96-01 was called the SiR-G, which had the chrome headlights with the "JDM" front end.

Trust me I don't think that I'm so smart, Its just you say one thing then someone else says something opposite. I'm still learning too. Everyone on Honda-Tech thinks they know everything and acts like tough guys when your wrong. I was trying to get some questions answered about spark plugs and oil filter and it turns into that I don't have a JDM motor. I think everyone knows what I have by comparing it to the USDM GS-R.

I email NGK tech and asked them what they thought would be the best for a JDM B18C "GSR" motor and heres what they emailed me.
Hello,
The gap for this engine is .044" I would suggest upgrading to the iridium IX
plug BKR6EIX-11 for the best ignitability. If you upgrade the coil and switch to
an iridium plug I would suggest opening the gap .003-.004" over stock. Hope this helps, thank you.
So I guess I have my questions answered. As far as the oil filter goes I will just stick with the OEM Honda Blue Oil filter. Thats a lot better than any other filter you can buy at any parts store. Thanks to all !

There was no "GS-R" model in Japan, but the equivalent model did come with a "B18C" engine, with no numbers after the "C".
hahaha sounds like dude is just trying to sell you their most expensive plug.
Copper is the 2nd highest conductive metal behind pure silver. IMHO the only advantage of platinum or iridium plugs is their long life. But on Integras, with plugs being so easy to change, and with copper-core plugs being so cheap, it only makes sense to run the copper-core plugs.
Look at it this way: NGK recommends the SAME V-power plug for both the B18C1 and B18C5 Type R engines - part# BKR6E-11. I'm pretty sure it would be safe to say that this plug will work fine in your JDM B18C engine.

USDM.......................................JDM
GSR (b18c1)(10:1)...................SI-R (b18c)(10.6:1)
Type R (b18c5)(10.6:1).............Type R (b18cr)(11:1)
HAMP - Honda AfterMarket Parts
but yea i have a jdm b18c, i use the honda oem blue filter, but i was curious if i should try type r plugs instead of usdm GSR plugs, since my compression is higher like a USDM type r.

Gold is highly conductive to electricity, and has been used for electrical wiring in some high energy applications (silver is even more conductive per volume, but gold has the advantage of corrosion resistance).
