Default ITR lsd spin test

I had my car on jack stands yesterday an spun one tire. The opposite tire spun the same direction. I know RWD LSD's spin the opposite. I was reading my helms tonight. It seems that my wheel should have spun the opposite direction. I am confused. It looks like it should spin the opposing direction by the pic of the diffs internals in helms.

What could make the other wheel spin the wrong direction? I tried both directions and the other wheel followed.

ITR lsd spins the wheels in opposite direction when shifted to Neutral.

I will try out your quaife if you ship it

I will play with it more the next time my car is on the stands. I know it is working, but this is very strange. I have not been too hard on it, I don't think.

Hmm. ITR spool.

Not 100% sure, but I believe that it has to be in gear for the wheels to turn opposit directions for this test. I believe that mine did turn opposite directions when put in gear and spun one side while on jackstands. By the way I have a 98 JDM ITR LSD Tranny. Enjoy

I spun mine again. With the car in gear the tires spin opposite direction. I read a few other pages about LSD's in general. They may spin either way when not in gear. When in gear it should spin backwards.

I talked to Quaife and to a shop that prepares SCCA racers. They both say that with the Quaife it can either spin in the same direction of opposite, depends on mileage and whether or not it is locked already. The only way to tell for sure is to pop out the axles.

But here is a test. Someone that does not have an LSD jack you car up and try turning the tires with the tranmission both in and out of gear and tell us what you observe.
