is integra gs-r same as ITR?

Re: do all integras have b18? (jt1583)
UM NO.
If they were the same, they would be called the same thing... Make sense?
ITR - Seam welded chassis, and a few braces here and there... also B18C5... basically all that is is slightly higher compression with a B16 head and slightly larger valves
GSR - spot welded chassis, no braces... B18C1
<GSR - Spot welded chassis, no braces... different interior options and a B18B, non vtec
Edit: ITR has better brakes, and suspension... GSR on down uses the same brakes and suspension.

True, but in the realm of the question ITR vs Integra General
They didnt start making an ITR till 97... or did they make 96 ITRs in Japan... dont remember

I only threw that in there because I had a similar discussion about that with g2's, I'm not sure about the ITR's, I think it was 96.

Re: do all integras have b18? (NS98GSR)
as far as actually helping the thread, the most important differences:
Type-R:
handles better
has a better transmission
has 25 more horsepower
has better "wow" factor
pretty much a race car out of the box
more likely to be well taken care of by the previous owner
GS-R:
has a sun roof
less likely to get stolen (sort of)
people won't care as much if you turn it into a ricey piece of ****
virtually the same performance potential with some mods
easier to find one for sale, more colors to choose from, cheaper.

gsr doesnt have any added bars than the rs/gs/ls? news to me i guess the dealer installs strut bars for u if u buy one. pretty much everything else was correct tho. the gsr's have a 2 stage intake manifold that uses long runners like an ls untill around 6.5K rpm(guessin on rpm. i think its vacum operated) then the butterflies on the short runners open allowing the intake mani to work like an itr manifold for higher rpm. still uses the normal vtec on top of this, but uses a head with less cc cmobustion chamber increasing the compression. the block says c1 and the valve cover is black which are disappointing.
then on the itr you get the red valve cover and the block says c5, the pistons are higher compression more than making up for the higher compression head on the gsr motor, the head is actually a ported si(b16) head. it uses a "beefier" valvetrain, lumpier cams, lightened crank and rods that say r on them but are near identical to gsr rods, as said earlier the pistons are high compression. both the b18 gsr's and itr's are the only b-series motors to have the stock "block girdle."
the 92-93 gsr is unique, it is the rarest b-series motor in the states. b17a1. its a b16 block stamped differantly just like an itr. it also uses a unique crank giving it a displacement of 1.7L and shorter rods to make up for the larger stroke. the pistons are lower compression than the b16 si motor so the hp isnt much higher than a b16, pretty much everything else on this motor is the same as a b16.

another fact that is false. lets clear this up. 86-89 integras use dohc d16's or zc motors. i dont really care which cuz they are crap. i can get them for free except they arent worth my time to pick them up. then 90-93 integra ls/rs/gs's used the b18a pr4 head, the 92-93 gsr integras used b17a1's(dohc vtec baby). 94 up gs/rs/ls use the b18b, and as said previously the 94-up gsr uses the b18c1 and the type r uses the b18c5.

lmao, why do you think the g1s are crap? cause there several hundred lbs lighter than your g2? or is it becuase out of the box they will OWN a g2 on a roadcourse. or is it 3? cause i can put your motor in my car and whip your ***? hasport makes b series mounts for the g1 you know. take your pick.

Re: do all integras have b18? (xdjoynerx)
d-series motors are crap ***. the g1 tegs are just ugly. i would consider driving one if i needed a daily driver. obviously u think the same if u wanna swap it out for a b-series.
