Integra being sold as a shell because of "unknown engine problem"
My friend is looking for a clean integra for a DD, and we came across a Jasper Green 91 DA. All the ad says is "1991 Integra Florida Body" as the title and "200k mi
engine has unknown problem so this is being sold as a shell" as the description with a few pics. We contacted the guy selling it and we asked about the engine problem to see if he could describe it. He said it sounded like a metal on metal sound and I am unsure of what this could be or what common problems would sound like this. We are under the assumption that we are going to be dropping another ODB0 B18A1 in it so we already have one lined up.. My question is, is there a chance that the motor in there is salvageable? He will be paying about 800 for the DA and the motor to be swapped into it is $350 for OBD0 LS and YS1 with about 140k. Any input?

Re: Integra being sold as a shell because of "unknown engine problem"
It's hard to say, have him do a youtube video, then post the link up on this forum...It could be a droped valve or valves. It could be a slightly bent rod. It could be tranny grinding that he is hearing...who knows.

Re: Integra being sold as a shell because of "unknown engine problem"
He doesn't seem like the kind of guy who's into the "forum stuff" like us. It doesn't hurt to try though. And that LS he is going to buy comes with the YS1 so I'm not too worried if the tranny is what's bad. Do you think this would be a good deal? I'm hoping its a GS but I don't think it is because it doesn't have the wing. Maybe an LS, hopefully not a RS. Here are the craigslist pics: From what i can tell, its faded Jasper Green
