ICU Questions
I've been looking for a good write up of fixing the integrated control unit on my 91 LS Special. I've had no int wipers, no rear defroster, and a crazy beeping for a while. I can't find this part online for less than $175 which is not worth it imo. Anyone know where to find a cheaper one(obviously junk yard, but I was thinking online)? or what parts are need to fix. I've read in a few vague posts about a capacitor going bad, looking burnt or bloated, and it was as simple as replacing that. Any help would be great.

The only place I could find that part since it's so small and forgettable (because it's behind the fusebox) was my local junkyard. I just replaced the whole thing in my Civic to obtain INT wipers. Shouldn't cost too much for it from a junkyard.

Re: ICU Questions (BCrawford)
I got bored and I ended up pulling my ICU to mess around with it. Definitely has a scorched capacitor. It was the bigger of the 2 caps. Kinda black and scorched on the board around the cap. and guess what? The one I pulled from my car was already a replacement. Had the year and model and the name of the junkyard written on it in marker. So now the hard part is gonna be finding a place the sells individual caps. I don't think Radioshack does that kinda thing anymore, but I'm gonna check. Anybody has any advice let me know.

Yeah you're absolutely right. My local radioshack had a good selection. but not the exact one I'm looking for. The cap that goes bad has a #H9048 and is 100uF 16v and it has VT(M) written on it and made by nichicon it looks like. If you know where to find this let me know. I guess I'll have to search online which means my car is officially down for a couple days.

Re: ICU Questions (BCrawford)
Everything works great now. I had to replace the capacitor and upon further inspection 2 of the lines on the board itself were corroded away from the bad cap. So ran a couple of small wires to bridge the messed lines and yeah it works like a charm. I now have int wipers and a rear defroster. SWEET
