These are the front ones, backs were fine.

I got these cheap a couple of years ago.
MORAL of the story, you get what u pay for.I was an idiot to think thses would last longer than 2 yrs.
I will be replacing these ASAP with a set of H&R springs.

The sleeve looks like it's too big for the shock. All that weight on the stock perch finally made it give.

that's not suprising at all.

-the sleeve isn't sitting squarely
-the sleeve is aluminum on a steel perch

It tends to happen to cheap aluminum coilover sleeves (mushrooming/cracking at the bottom). Somebody posted a trick that you can do, when you first put them on when they are new, put a large metal hose clamp around the very bottom of the sleeve, which will add strength and keep it from mushrooming out like that.

And don't get H&R Sport springs, they are too soft and lowered my car 3".

I'm saving for custom rate Ground Controls, I would suggest the same for you.

it still boggles my mind as to why they lowered you so much. i measured mine and my friend's (99 ls) drops with sports and we were both lowered between 1.8" and 2". his only looked lower than mine because he had 195/50/15 while i was on stock 195/55/15

my coil overs are made by cosmo racing. havent had any problems with them yet. i know theyre not the best brand, but i couldnt pass up the price i found for a set of em. the weird thing with em is that they have 2 springs on each coil over; theres a thinner spring above thats almost completely compressed so that when you get a little air your springs dont lose contact and slam back up. it seemed like a smart thing to me and they handle just as good as almost any other coilover. ive only got my car lowered 1", since i live in ohio where theres **** all over the roads.

a dual spring design can be very effective.

A helper spring. I think the Tein SS has a helper spring.
