Word!
I retract my previous statement. Stock to Stock, the GSR would spank.. but I know what can be done to a Mirage

That's a good price, I'd get it.
A GSr is a fine daily driver and good on long trips. Just try to make sure it dosen't burn too much oil. A mirage engine is cheap and abundant, GSr engine is overrated and overpriced.

all i can say about that mitsu is DAMN.
..but about my GSR, i love it! with my stock motor that was BEAT TO DEATH lasted to 181,031 miles... on average rev'ed to 8k at over 4 times a day about 6 out of 7 days a week. Honestly, i think its really good considering that it was NOT well taken care of...Unconsistant oil changes that ranged from 3 to 8+ thousand miles..driven without oil for probably over a day every once in a while (and still rev'ed!)...if there were written laws against this id be in for a while..
..of course me and my new motor have a better relationship now, im i bit more responsible now that i know how much everything cost....

if you ask me.
GSR is the second best of integra. (next to type R)
Its indeed a very nice sporty car. and handles drives very nicely.
Very fun to drive. But than which DOHC Vtec engine isn't
But the only flaw seems to be the milage.
174 is very very high milage for that car, or anycar for that matter
the engine has its life taken away from it, just keep that in consideration.

Re: I found a GSR I may buy got some questions. (sshaikh01)
My teg is also a 96' GS-R, and I've got almost 185,000 miles on it.
For problems, The engine was burning about a quart of 5W30 every 1,000 miles, but I switched to 10W30 and it's fine now. It's not as fast as a newer one obviously, but it's still very quick, I can beat 4th gen prelude SI's (dunno about the vtec models), any stock civic, etc.
Other than that, it's in great shape. It's had the required maintenace done on time every time, had the clutch replaced at 170something thousand, and had the transmission bearings replaced at around 178,000. See if it's had the 180,000 mile waterpump/timing belt service, if not try to talk them down a little more. And check the service records, make sure the lady doesn't wait 7,000 miles between oil changes. Other than that....I'd say go for it if the price is right.

i will make sure I do a compression test on the car. Yeah the only tire I rock on the mirage is azenis only street tire that it won't blow off majorly in 3rd it does some still but not as bad with those stickies.

wow. that mirage is very sleepishly nice! nice work.
sounds like 4k isn't too bad for a gsr. it'll have some great potential if you want to spruce it up in the go department too.
