pat try changing the tail light gasket. they wear out and are the leading cause of water condensation in taillights if there are no visible cracks. you have a 94-97 if i remember and my 94 gaskets wore out about three years ago, I replaced em and the problem is no longer present</TD></TR></TABLE>
As I posted above (I think) I have already blown 50 bucks on 2 brand new OEM gaskets, and water is still getting into the taillight.

I feel for you Patrick, I know you have been dealing with this for awhile.
My drivers side tail light leaked in the same manner you are describing but fortunately replacing the gasket fixed it for me. You seem pretty thorough and god knows you spent enough time screwing around with this, but did you thoroughly clean the surface that the gasket mounts to? On the body side as well?
I just pulled mine, cleaned everything, put it on top of my boiler to dry out for 2 days or so and then reinstalled it and it was fine. You are one unlucky bastard it seems.
Now the headlight that leaks, aaarrgggghhhhh. I haven't begun to play around with that because I have to take the bumper off and it's just to cold out right now.

I have the same damn problem...
The funny thing is, the carpet directly behind the pedals is dry as a bone, so it cant be coming in the fire wall.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by PatrickGSR94 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

Your best bet is to get a whole new taillight assembly.

same problem on my car.. before it was coming in from left tail light gasket and so i change that.. and now it goes to the right side of the trunk, so maybe the right gasket needs to be change too.. if it doesnt fix it ill just drill a hole on em.. so it wont get rusty... (I hate carrying swimming pool wit me while im driving)

I had a crack in my tail light causing the trunk to fill up with water. Went to the junkyard and bought a new tail light for $30, problem solved.

My DA used to have a leak on the passenger side. It seems all DA's have this problem. I did mine in about an hour and it only costs a few bucks to fix. Here's a write up on the fix.

yeah mine was under passenger side also but after i replaced windshield cowls, it worked fine for a while.. then it hailed and my floor got owned again i guess it coulda been cuz all the hail ( it was the size of one of those smooth rocks ) and it stayed right above the hood by the wipers and it all melted..

Yup you gotta change the seals under the cowl. Once you have em off you'll see which ones. Look at the site I posted, its very helpful.

yeah i replaced them going by instructions on that site and it still leaked haha. usually doesnt happen during regular rain though. with the hail it was prob like a gallon of water that poured in simultaneously

Haha!
I always have a leak when it rains in the back where my spare tire sits. It's like a little pond or something.
I always thought it was my rear wiper plug since I never used any sealant around it. I just pulled the plug from my firewall and slapped it in. It still may be. Anyone have problems with water from there?
I'm gonna check my taillights now. I can't remember if it was leaking before or after I switched to JDM tails.

I park my car in my garage at night but for work, i have to park outside, so I bought a car cover. I know its gay and it irritating putting in onnnn and then taking it offf....but I rather do that then open my door and sit in a big *** puddle...or find a small pond in my trunk
Good luck!

sometimes just fixing the gasket or tail light helps some people but for others it just doesnt cut it... i dont know ive took out my tail lights and gaskets many times im cleaned them and also use silicon to seal it better but the rain just keeps on coming in, what i did notice is that the water isnt mainly from the tail lights its coming from the corners of the quarter panel i think its coming from those hoses ... also just like patrick said the leakage from the rear wiper squirter nozzle leaks as well dripping onto the headliner...
but i was thinking about using 2 gaskets on each side maybe that will work

I think someone needs to trace a taillight gasket and find a better material and cut their own... and sell them really cheap to the rest of us.
Anyone have any suggestions for a better gasket material?

I do not believe the gasket is the culprit. I previously had a leak back in 2003 after my original gaskets were pretty worn out. I made my own gaskets in a manner similar to the way another H-T used was making them. Then a few months ago I started getting a leak again. I tried making new gaskets again, didn't work. I tried using silicone, still didn't work. I then sprung for new OEM gaskets and added extra weather stripping and still have the leak. I'm pretty sure now it's the actual taillight that is the problem. Water is getting inside the taillight, filling up, and then spilling over into the trunk.
And BTW, the gaskets I made were done using this hobby foam stuff from any craft store. However, after getting OEM gaskets, I see that the OEM ones are still superior. The foam is softer (not as dense) and is able to conform and seal around edges better than the stuff I used.
I will probably try to find a 94-97 driver side taillight for cheap, maybe from someone who has switched to 98+ tails or even Altezzas

Re: (furious94ls)
well guess what guys im just about sure i have fixed the taillight problem but it still leaks from t he passengerside corner, its soemthing on that side but yeah i see that my tail light leaks no more... basically what you do is i bought a permatex clear sealant from a local auto parts store cost $6 bucks and it works its job cuz its made in the USA hahaahha. ok so anyways i didnt get to take pics of how i put it on but it sure works , ok when you take off your tail lights you will see that on the gasket side where it goes against the tail light there is an indented line (crease?) that runs along with the same shape of the tail light, just get that clear sealant and just run it along that crease then slap it on the tail light and make sure the tail light follows along the crease with the sealant stuff. you know when u dont have the taillights on you see the 3 square holes for the taillight? ok the 3 squares get the sealant and run it along the edges of the squares so when you slap the taillight on it goes together... basically what that does is keeps water from coming into the square holes!
