How many of you integra owners have a water leak in the car?

Re: How many of you integra owners have a water leak in the car?
holy hell with all this rain my floors are soaked. I felt the passenger side floors and it's like someone took a hose and left it on in my car for a good minute or two. the entire inside is like that. not to mention the water I heard sloshing around in the rear of the car i'm sure the trunk is flooded. I can't believe how soaking wet it is inside on both the driver and passenger side floors. not much I can do now except wait til the weather gets better. what the hell can I do?!?
after a little bit of reading I'm positive I'm going to need to strip the entire car to dry everything properly to avoid any mold but damn if this weather won't let up soon. I don't want to do it and leave the problem unfixed. I'm guessing that the rear is flooding because of a tail light but that's just because everyone seems to have had this problem at one point or another throughout this thread. the interior is what's really bothering me as I have no clue how it got this bad. I know nothing about cars so I don't know how it could be leaking in. all I know about the rear is some drain tubing that is near the antenna? I don't have a moonroof/sunroof so I don't think that plays any part.
sigh, merry christmas to me.

I had the leak in the trunk problem, cleaned the surface around the tail light gasket and applied a high quality silicone sealant. Leak is now history, don't waste your money on the gaskets. My dealer wanted $100 for both!!

lol 14 pages in I'm sure there are a number who would love to know including myself =\ this thread got revived from the dead but that's because we're seeing some pretty steady rain in socal for once.
I got into my car earlier just to see if I could figure out where all the water was coming from and I can say this, the water doesn't seem to be coming from the front of the car. the carpeting directly behind the pedals isn't damp/wet at all. I'm almost certain it came in from the trunk area but I can't be sure. this is going to be a real pain in the *** when I have to clean this all up. Maybe that sloshing sound or the rushing water sound was the sound of the water moving from my trunk into the car thereby soaking the entire cabin floor.
would be grateful to hear how you fixed this. knowing socal it will stop raining here in a couple of days and never rain again until next year.

No offense but over the last 14 pages there have been numerous people who have given a few reasons why this might be happening. From what I've seen throughout the thread there's a drain hose that's near the antenna and also it could be leaking in through your tail lights. Read over the thread or even just two pages back. I think there's a guide on how to fix it or if you're familiar with team-integra they have some articles on where the leaks may be coming from.

Mine was coming from when I switched out my stock GS spoiler to the ITR.It was the extra hole for the 3rd brake cable. Took it to the body shop to have it sealed up now no leak. but it did cost me a short in the fuel pump.

Re: How many of you integra owners have a water leak in the car?
-quick question that hopefully hasn't been asked in the last 14 pages.-
Anyone have any advice regarding how to properly dry and to get rid of that mildew smell that builds up on rear seat cushion foams since ALL of our integras seem to have a leak in the trunk? Preferably an odor remover that can be bought at a local retail store (target, walmart)

I don't know if it's even sold in stores anymore but ozium might work. You might want to try running an o-zone machine in your car too, I hear that works in some cases for cigarette smells. Not sure if that's nearly as potent as that mildew smell you've got going. My car smells like damp carpeting (duh). I think I'll take this opportunity to completely swap out the carpeting if I can find it online. Found an install guide on TI but damn if it doesn't look hard.

Also, when you rip out everything to put in the new carpet, it might be a good time to finally see where the hell that leak of yours might be coming from. When I swapped my carpet out, it gave me a good opportunity to see what was going on behind the rear panels and in the trunk since it was basically just a bare metal shell. I also had water coming through the passenger rear speaker cover in my old dc2.

Re: How many of you integra owners have a water leak in the car?
Reading up after searching on google, people say that using baking soda directly on seats and carpet after it has dried up, leaving it overnight and then vacuuming the next day helps to rid the material of moisture and smell. I'll try that after I dry out the seat by taking it out and air drying it, maybe using a blowdryer to speed up the process.
On a side note, it's a real bitch to figure out you have a leak when its been raining non stop for two weeks in nor cal.

Quick question though, if I left the carpet out and just put the seats back in for the time being (since I gotta work on Monday, no extended vacation for me) would it be really loud in the car? I don't have an exhaust or anything so I'm hoping if I can just rip the carpet out and let it sit out for the weekend.

Re: How many of you integra owners have a water leak in the car?
Had a leak in two different places in my trunk, Fixed one with a wine cork (hard to explain) and now my tail lights are leaking. Probably fix that with silicone tho. I also have a leak on my driver side door pillar. It seems like water is coming through the door seal and through my automatic seatbelt track.... Any suggestions on how to fix that?

might wanna figure out where that leak is coming from and get rid of that mildew/mold. That stuff is bound to get you sick and it won't be pleasant when it happens.
